What Are Proxies in Zenless Zone Zero?

In ZZZ, you’re a player who guides agents through dangerous dimensions called Hollows. This makes you a “Proxy”; someone who acts as a coordinator and manages the team’s movements. All ZZZ characters are guided by Proxies, as it’s essential to have a leader navigate ongoing challenges and keeps New Eridu safe.

At the beginning of the game, you take the role of either Wise or Belle. They are Proxies who share the same role, dialogue, and gameplay, but look different. Outside combat, Proxies explore New Eridu, interact with NPCs, manage missions, and more.

How To Unlock Characters in Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero characters are primarily unlocked through a gacha-style system called Signal Search. While there are other free and event-based ways of expanding the roster, relying on the game’s gacha system can be a reliable way of setting your expectations. 

Any gacha game relies on a blend of luck and drop rates. In the case of Zenless Zone Zero, there are several factors that play into how you unlock new characters. Before you start pouring in money (and wishes), here are some things to be aware of.

• Signal search: This is the main way of unlocking new characters, where you spend Film (the game’s premium currency) to perform “wishes” (pulls) on character banners. These rotate regularly and are divided into limited-time and permanent options. 
• Free characters from story progression: As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock several A-Rank characters for free. These include awesome agents like Nicole, Anby, and more. 
• Character selection tickets: From time to time, ZZZ offers selection tickets that let you choose specific A-Rank agents from a list. These are often given during events, login bonuses, or milestone rewards. It’s a great way of targeting characters that fit your playstyle.
