This game features both single-player and multiplayer options, thanks to its co-op raids. During the raids, you can play with up to three friends and battle against enemies known as Commanders. 

2. Octopath Traveler 0

With over 100 hours of playable content, it’s no surprise that the highly anticipated Octopath Traveler 0 contains a variety of gameplay elements. On its surface, this title is similar to others in the franchise, combining RPG elements with turn-based combat. However, it also includes elements of town-building and farming as you gather resources and rebuild the protagonist’s hometown. 

One unique gameplay feature to look forward to in Octopath Traveler 0 is character customization. This is the first time that the ability to customize everything from your character’s appearance to their voice and attributes has appeared in the Octopath Traveler series, and it sets the stage for immersive, personalized gameplay.

3. High on Life 2

High on Life 2 combines elements from a range of genres, creating immersive and unique gameplay designed to keep you on the edge of your seat. This upcoming action-adventure title seamlessly blends in skateboard gameplay, offering an interesting twist to traditional traversal. It also includes weapon-based combat as you defeat extraterrestrial enemies in a race to save humanity. 

Don’t worry about High on Life 2 being too serious, however. While it is up to you to save the world, comedy is a core element of gameplay, helping lighten up the mood while fighting aliens. This 2026 title is planned to be single-player only. It’ll also stray away from previous titles by the same developer, as it won’t include a VR option.

4. Resident Evil Requiem

The ninth addition to the main line of Resident Evil games, Requiem (styled Re9uiem), aims to provide gameplay tailored to two different audiences while keeping in line with the best PvP games. In the default first-person perspective, you can experience the horrors and action that await as if you were the one in the game. Alternatively, using the third-person perspective, you can sit back and take in the ample action this game is planned to feature from afar.

Overall, Resident Evil Requiem will incorporate many aspects commonly found in the survival horror genre and its predecessors. This includes a lurking monster that stalks you and enough puzzles and resource management to rival some of the best strategy games.

5. 007 First Light

A highly anticipated title among James Bond fans, one thing is clear about 007 First Life: this title is set to be action-packed. From tactical third-person shooting to driving some of the most iconic vehicles from Ian Fleming’s universe, 007 First Light will provide an immersive and thrilling story that you can enjoy regardless of your experience with previous titles in the franchise. 

007 First Light is a single-player title that you can enjoy even without experience with Fleming’s universe. Much of the gameplay will focus on completing missions while utilizing your range of weapons or engaging in hand-to-hand combat to defeat enemies. However, there will also be plenty of room for adventure, especially when it comes to testing out the different vehicles available.

6. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

As of writing, not much is known about what players should expect while playing the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3. However, this title is expected to fall in line with the lore established by early installments in the franchise, focusing on a monster known as Rathalos. Monster Hunter Stories 3 will also demonstrate key JRPG elements, including a turn-based combat system and character creation options.

7. Slay the Spire 2

When Slay the Spire was first released in 2019, it grew to be one of the most popular video games thanks to its genre-bending gameplay that seamlessly combines rouge elements with deck-building. With Slay the Spire 2, you can enjoy the climb to success once more while also diving into brand new content. This includes new characters and cards.

Like its predecessor, Slay the Spire 2 will revolve around collecting cards and building decks as you battle your way to the top of the tower.
