There aren’t many gamers out there who don’t know the name League of Legends. LoL has been around since 2009 and is generally regarded as one of the most influential games in the MOBA genre, and certainly one of the most popular games in the world.
That said, LoL’s nature as one of the most competitive and frustrating online games can make it very difficult to learn when you’re new to the MOBA world. The roster contains a myriad of champions to master. The gameplay requires a strategic and collaborative approach, and each role requires specific champions.
We’ve assessed and ranked champions by position: top lane, jungle, mid lane, bot lane, and support to create an accurate and fair LoL champion tier list. We’ll take a closer look at the top champions and fan favorites of Runeterra, their role, what they can do, and how they measure up against other champions in the current LoL meta. Each character is ranked on a scale of S+ (highest) to D (lowest) so you know what’s currently working and what you should play on each corner of Summoner’s Rift.
For each champion, we’ve included a recommended skill priority (such as Q → W → E). Invest in abilities in that order, and you’ll have yourself a champion who’s ruthless on the battlefield!
Those who know League of Legends know that champions go up and down in value and efficiency depending on each patch’s changes. The champions we highlight in this post include fan favorites that remain timeless and efficient once you’ve mastered them.
How we came up with this list
To compile our tier lists, we evaluate data from top-rated stats websites and community opinions, leveraging our expertise as gamers and developers to bring you the most accurate and helpful information.
League of Legends Tier List Breakdown and Criteria
S+ | Otherwise known as God tier, these champions’ abilities, stats, and runes position them as extremely efficient in their role regardless of the enemy team’s composition |
S | Champions who are positioned to perform splendidly in the current meta depending on team composition and player knowledge and skill |
A | Balanced champions who excel in their role but may be challenging to play depending on team composition and enemy counters |
B | Champions who can secure victory with the right amount of skill and strategy; B-tier champions aren’t weak but are very situational and require in-depth champion knowledge |
C | Champions who are neither completely underpowered nor overly powerful; they require a high amount of skill and luck to consistently secure wins |
D | Champions with a low rate of victory/success who are currently underwhelming; these picks are typically heavily countered by most champions in the current meta |
Top Lane Tier List

Tier | Character |
S+ | Irelia, Warwick, Maokai, Malphite, Riven |
S | Fiora, Teemo, Tahm Kench, Vladimir, Camille, Quinn |
A | Ornn, Cho’Gath, Cassiopeia, Kennen, Zac, Kayle, Shen, Urgot, Mordekaiser, Sett, Pantheon, Jax |
B | Renekton, Swain, Udyr, Teemo, Singed, Tryndamere, Gragas, Garen, Nasus, Darius, Gwen, Dr. Mundo, Aatrox |

Irelia (S+)
Irelia remains an absolute menace in the top lane thanks to her crazy mobility, sustain, and quick attack tempo. A popular pick in pro eSports events, Irelia’s kit gives way to some really creative gameplay. Her Bladesurge (Q) is what makes her so slippery — it resets on marked targets, so she can dash around like a pinball, farming minions and dodging skill shots while closing in on enemies.
Defiant Dance (W) gives her some tankiness, blocking damage and allowing her to outlast opponents in a fight. A subtle amount of tankiness is necessary for the top lane since most matchups feature tanky champions like Aatrox, Garen, and Malphite.
Her Flawless Duet (E) is where the real outplay potential comes in — land the stun, and you can set up a deadly all-in, or pull apart champions that dared get too close. Then there’s Vanguard’s Edge (R), which not only chunks enemies but also creates a blade prison, forcing enemies to fight on her terms. While they can still walk out of the area, they’ll be slowed and likely play right into Irelia’s hands. If she gets ahead, she becomes nearly unstoppable.
Verdict: Irelia is a high-skill champ, but if you put in the time, she’s insanely rewarding. She has strong laning, snowballs super hard, and can carry games solo once mastered.
Skill priority: Q → W → E
Warwick (S+)
While a jungler at heart, Warwick also excels in the top lane. It also helps that he’s able to stand up to quite a few top lane champions in 1v1 fights. He’s a sustain-heavy, dueling powerhouse you don’t want coming after you at low HP.
He can outlast most bruisers in extended fights, and he’s one of the best champs for punishing aggressive opponents. His passive healing on attacks makes every trade feel winnable, and his chase potential — especially when enemies have low HP — can be scary. If an enemy so much as dips below half health, you’ll be zooming at them like a horror movie monster.
What makes Warwick so strong is how hard he is to kill. He shrugs off poke, heals like crazy, and can fear enemies to turn fights in his favor. His ultimate lets him lock down squishy targets, which is always satisfying when you’re diving the enemy backline.
Verdict: Warwick is one of the easiest top laners to pick up right now, but he still has plenty of outplay potential. He wins most melee matchups, doesn’t need to rely on mana, and scales into a tanky, unkillable menace, an S+ for any day.
Skill priority:E → Q → W
Maokai (S+)
Maokai is one of those champions who’s always been a reliable pick in the right hands, and in the current meta, he’s found his place as one of the most annoying tanks to deal with. Whether in the jungle or top lane, Maokai brings crowd control and durability to the table in a way that just doesn’t let enemies breathe.
To play Maokai to his full potential, you need to get used to his Twisted Advance (W). Since it makes you untargetable, it can be a useful tool to dodge certain abilities and ultimates. It also roots targets that you attach to, giving you and your team the time needed to finish the enemy off. Since his Q knocks enemies back, Maokai’s combo often entails using W first, then knocking enemies back into your own team for some secluded punishment.
His crowd control in both lane and teamfights can turn the game, especially when used to catch out squishier targets or disrupt the enemy’s backline. He’s tanky enough to outlast most opponents, especially when you’re up against champions who rely on burst or poke damage.
And while his saplings might seem like an underwhelming ability, you should spam it as often as you can. It’s one of the most irritating abilities that’s sure to get your enemies frustrated and careless.
Verdict: Maokai’s a perfect pick if you’re looking for a tank with reliable crowd control and decent sustain. He’s easy to play but still has enough depth to make a huge impact in every fight.
Skill priority: Q → W → E
Malphite (S+)
Malphite is simple, tanky, and has one of the most satisfying ultimates in the game. Right now, he’s thriving in the meta as a rock-solid (literally) pick against AD-heavy teams. He’s one of the best counters to auto-attack-reliant bruisers and ADCs, thanks to his passive armor scaling. If you’re tired of dealing with fed Yasuo and Yone players, Malphite is your best friend.
His playstyle is as straightforward as it gets: Sit back, absorb damage, poke with your Q, and wait for the perfect moment to unleash Unstoppable Force. His ultimate is game-changing — if you hit multiple enemies, you can single-handedly swing a fight in your favor. Malphite doesn’t need a lead to be effective, and even if he falls behind, he still brings major utility just by existing as a frontliner with one of the best engages in the game.
Verdict: Malphite is one of the easiest tanks to pick up and play, but his impact is undeniable. Whether you’re peeling for your team or diving into the enemy backline, he’s a strong pick in almost any situation.
Skill priority: Q → E → W
Riven (S+)
Riven can be a frustrating champion to learn. No matter how much you play this champion, you’ll always feel like you’re barely scratching the surface of her potential. She’s all about high-skill expression, fast combos, and mobility. But if you take the time to learn her animation cancels and combos, she’s one of the most rewarding champions to play.
She can dash with her E three times and her Q twice. She can knock champions up, stun enemies, and activate her sword to send out a ranged slash known for taking down players who think they’ve made it out.
Riven is uniquely positioned to suppress enemies long enough for her to slowly slash down their health. Her playstyle revolves around fluidly weaving together her abilities to maximize damage and mobility. She has no mana costs, meaning she can spam abilities freely, and her shield lets her trade aggressively without taking much damage in return.
Verdict: Riven is incredibly strong but requires a high level of mechanical skill. If you’re willing to put in the time, she can solo-carry games with her insane outplay potential.
Skill priority:Q → E → W
Fiora (S)
As one of the most dominant top lane dualists, Fiora thrives in melee encounters with precision-based attacks. She can punish even the mightiest of tanks with her damage and mobility. Her R (Grand Challenge) ability becomes the highlight when Fiora manages to secure takedowns and allows AoE healing.
With promising abilities comes the challenge of decision-making, and Fiora requires you to constantly time her abilities in a way that synergizes with all her combat mechanics. Especially the W (Riposte) skill that should parry key abilities. High-skill, high-reward!
Verdict: Fiora is a top-notch split pusher for mechanically confident players who love dominating the side lane while focusing on 1v1 situations against enemies.
Skill priority: Q → E → W
Quinn (S)
Quinn is a high‑tempo top laner with unmatched roaming power and lane dominance. Her Q (Blinding Assault) provides strong poke and harass, especially against melee champions. At the same time, E (Vault) allows her to disengage or quickly transition from lane into mid or bot for surprise plays. In this meta, Quinn’s roaming prowess is exceptionally strong because she snowballs faster through map movement than most top laners.
Her W (Heightened Senses) further enhances her roaming capabilities by granting extra vision and attack speed, making her lethal wherever she appears. When she hits level 6 and activates R (Behind Enemy Lines), she effectively turns every side-lane into a second game, pressuring everywhere.
This resurgence stems from item buffs to on-hit builds and the slower patch environment, giving her the tempo to capitalize on early advantages across the map.
Verdict: Quinn’s ability to bully lane before collapsing into other lanes makes her a dominant S‑tier pick for laners who excel at mobility and map control.
Skill priority: Q → E → W
Jungle Tier List

Tier | Character |
S+ | Warwick, Shaco, Nocturne, Skarner, Kha’Zix, Bel’Veth, Trundle, Volibear, Briar |
S | Master Yi, Kindred, Ekko, Jarvan IV |
A | Fiddlesticks, Jarva IV, Ivern, Zyra, Xin Zhao, Taliyah, Pantheon |
B | Qiyana, Diana, Viego, Nunu & Willump, Evelynn, Wukong, Elise, Udyr, Talon, Lee Sin |
C | Lilia, Teemo, Naafiri, Kayn |
D | Nidalee, Zac, Sylas, Sejuani, Vi, Gragas, Ambessa, Jax, Rek’Sai, Gwen, Rammus, Poppy, Dr. Mundo, Amumu, Rengar, Karthus, Hecarim, Graves, Shyvana, Zed |
Warwick (S+)
We already talked about Warwick as a top laner, but let’s be real — his true home is in the jungle, and he consistently dominates the LoL jungle tier list. His kit is practically built for it, with strong sustain, fast clears, and one of the best early-game dueling potentials in the role. His W as a passive makes tracking down low-health enemies ridiculously easy, and once he smells blood, there’s almost no escaping him.
Warwick thrives in the jungle because of how safe and consistent he is. He doesn’t need perfect clears, doesn’t rely on leashes, and can go for early skirmishes without much risk. His ultimate gives him a great way to lock down high-priority targets no matter how far back they might be.
Verdict: Warwick is a beginner-friendly jungler with serious dueling power and great sustain. He might not be the flashiest pick, but if you enjoy chasing down enemies and healing through fights, he’s an easy S+ choice.
Skill priority:W → Q → E
Shaco (S+)
Shaco seems to always find his way to the top of the LoL jungle tier list. A nightmare for anyone who doesn’t ward properly, Shaco’s playstyle is all about deception, sneaky ganks, and making the enemy question every move they make. A good Shaco player is unpredictable. If you’re playing the champion right, enemies will be in a constant state of paranoia since you can be nearly anywhere around them and they wouldn’t even know.
His ability to gank from unconventional angles, thanks to his temporary invisibility, makes him one of the most frustrating champions to play against. His early-game impact is insane, and once he gets ahead, he can completely take over a game by deleting squishy targets and setting up his signature jack-in-the-box traps for the ultimate inconvenience.
If you use his clone right, you can hold objectives really well, but keep in mind that once Shaco falls behind, it becomes very difficult to catch up.
Verdict: Shaco is an S+ pick for those who love mind games and aggressive, high-reward plays. He’s not easy to master, but when played well, he can make the enemy team miserable.
Skill priority:W → E → Q
Nocturne (S+)
Nocturne stands out with his ultimate, which lets him shut down vision and dive onto squishy targets from a ridiculous distance. Early on, he farms well with his passive’s healing and AoE damage, but once he hits level six, he becomes a major threat across the map — perfect for initiating teamfights.
He’s a fan favorite because of how well he punishes mispositioned enemies. His ability to dive onto the backline, combined with his spell shield, makes him hard to deal with in skirmishes.
If he gets an early lead, he becomes a terrifying presence in teamfights and split-pushing scenarios. The downside? If his ult is on cooldown, his impact drops significantly, and he’s vulnerable to strong early-game junglers who can invade him before he scales up.
Verdict: Nocturne is an S+ pick for players who love aggressive, dive-heavy junglers. He’s incredibly strong in solo queue, where his ult can exploit bad positioning, but he does rely on good decision-making to stay ahead.
Skill priority:Q → E → W
Kha’Zix (S+)
Kha’Zix is the ultimate assassin. He’s amazing in the jungle, thanks to his ability to isolate and delete enemies in an instant. His passive rewards careful positioning, and his evolution choices let him adapt to different situations so you can improve your range, mobility, and invisibility. So if the game calls for a sneaky assassin, you can be invisible for a bit longer. If the game calls for a ranged poking machine, you can evolve your ranged attack.
The key to Kha’Zix’s strength is isolation. His Q does bonus damage against lone targets, making him one of the best assassins for punishing greedy enemies who wander off alone. His stealth lets him reposition in fights, dodge vision, and surprise opponents. However, he struggles against coordinated teams that group up and deny him easy kills. He’s also reliant on good execution. If you jump in and fail to secure a kill, you’re often dead on the spot.
Verdict: Kha’Zix is an S+ assassin for players who excel at tracking enemy movements and punishing mistakes. He’s devastating in solo queue, where enemies are more likely to misposition, but he requires smart decision-making to avoid getting shut down.
Skill priority:Q → W → E
Trundle (S+)
Trundle shines in this patch as the ultimate duelist and objective controller. Against tank-heavy compositions, his R (Subjugate) not only steals stats but rips enemy resistances, turning him into a frontline menace during Baron and Dragon contests. Beyond that, Q (Chomp) and W (Frozen Domain) provide powerful dueling tools, slowing enemies while boosting his damage and attack speed.
Early pathing is smooth as he transitions from early wins to rapid invades and overlaps farm with medium-clear speed. Recent item buffs indirectly strengthen him through boosted attack speed and on‑hit synergy, enhancing his sustained pressure on dragons or split pushes. His ability to steal towers and peel off objectives ensures he impacts teamfights even when slightly behind.
Verdict: A consistently high-impact jungle pick, Trundle’s kit and power spikes make him a top-tier solo queue and competitive staple.
Skill priority: Q → W → E
Volibear (S+)
Volibear remains a potent juggernaut jungler, combining early skirmishing power with strong mid-to-late scaling. His Q (Thundering Smash) lets him charge into fights, slow key targets, and set up follow‑ups, while E (Sky Splitter) provides AoE burst and a shield for trading. R (Stormbringer) is a powerful teamfight tool as he disables towers and knocks enemies up, enabling objective dives or clutch engages under tower.
With the meta favoring on‑hit and fast tempo compositions, Volibear is a sustained damage beast who is great for extended fights. His natural tankiness and self-healing via his W (Frenzied Maul) make him hard to peel off, even when focused.
Verdict: Volibear is a dependable jungle pick who brings frontline utility and carry threat, ideal for consistent performance in solo queues.
Skill priority: Q → W → E
Jarvan IV (S)
This top-tier jungle pick asks you to build his kit Q (Dragon Strike) and E (Demacian Standard) combos, which form a reliable gank setup. Jarvan IV’s R (Cataclysm) skill also creates game-changing scenarios during team fights, so move into fights with that synergy in mind. Optimizing his skirmishing nature helps you perform well with a bruiser or tank build, depending on your team’s needs.
Impacting lanes during Level 3 (and onward) makes up for Jarvan IV’s speed, leading to an all-rounder powerhouse of a build as the game progresses. Many players favor a Conqueror-based kit with items like Black Cleaver, Frozen Heart, and Eclipse.
Verdict: Jarvan IV is an awesome pick for solo queuers and competitors alike. Whether you’re setting up kills or simply locking down objectives, he’s a reliable pick in the current meta.
Skill priority: Q → E → W
Mid Lane Tier List

Tier | Character |
S+ | Vex, Zoe, Anivia, Diana |
S | Katarina, Galio, Akshan, Malzahar |
A | Fizz, Lissandra, Xerath, Qiyana, Ekko, Malphite, Naafiri, Neeko, Akali, Gragas, Cho’Gath, Annie, Leblanc |
B | Pantheon, Syndra, Hwei, Ambessa, Vladimir, Swain, Twisted Fate, Corki, Tristana, Kassadin, Irelia, Taliyah, Lux, Zed |
C | Orianna, Azir, Sylas, Jayce, Yasuo, Veigar, Ahri, Aurora |
D | Smolder, Yone, Kayle, Vel’Koz, Cassiopeia, Aurelio Sol, Talon, Ziggs, Ryze, Viktor, Mel |
Vex (S+)
Vex is a mid lane mage who has really come into her own in the current meta, offering both solid poke and impressive burst damage. Her passive shields her after hitting an enemy with her abilities, which helps her survive in-lane and trade effectively. Her Q poke is consistent, and once she unlocks her R, Vex can initiate teamfights or pick off stragglers with her wide-range AoE damage. Her W, a dash combined with a fear, also gives her great peel potential and mobility in fights.
Vex plays a game of patience, waiting for the enemy to wear themselves out fighting the rest of the team before coming in to clean up whatever is left behind. She can close distances incredibly fast, and if you’re not careful, you can be caught unaware.
Verdict: Vex is a solid pick for players who enjoy burst damage, poke, and teamfight presence. She’s easy to pick up and can perform well at all skill levels, especially if you know how to properly position her in fights.
Skill priority:Q→ W → E
Zoe (S+)
Despite receiving nerfs to her Q and W this patch, Zoe remains one of the most oppressive poke-and-pick champions in mid. Her long-range Q (Paddle Star) still punishes mispositioning heavily, and E (Sleepy Trouble Bubble) sets up resets and deadly combos. Patch 25.14 lowered early W damage but improved her scaling ratio, meaning she still snowballs hard into late with correct trades.
Zoe’s laning dominance allows her to bully mages and assassins by harassing and picking up resets that let her roam or lane swap fluidly. Even when laning falls off, landing a single bubble into Paddle Star can swing fights or secure solo kills. Her spell-thief playstyle rewards high skill play and strategic positioning, so mastering her timing can tilt games from mid lane onward.
Verdict: Zoe remains S+ thanks to her roaming pressure, burst potential, and map presence once played optimally.
Skill priority: Q → E → W
Anivia (S+)
Anivia is a promising mid-lane control pick, with a talent for clearing waves, zoning, and harnessing an ultimate ability that lets her be ruthless during objective control situations. Her Electrocute setup in Domination (with Deep Ward, Cheap Shot, and Relentless Hunter), paired with runes like Presence of Mind and Coup de Grace, forms a solid build.
Keep in mind Anivia’s strength builds up towards mid-game situations, when her burst damage and zoning potential can steal the spotlight. To make the most of her kit, you’ll need to prioritize leveling up her E (Frostbite) for consistent damage, while Q (Flash Frost) helps you manage crowd control scenarios.
Verdict: When played correctly, this high-ceiling mid-lane champion thrives on vision control and zone safety. She excels when you remain patient and play around cooldowns.
Skill priority: E → Q → W
Katarina (S)
As one of League of Legends’ oldest champions, Katarina holds a special place in many LoL players’ hearts. With her Q for poke and lane pressure and her E for mobility, Katarina excels in short bursts of high damage. Her W sets up her next attack for maximum effectiveness, while her R can quickly decimate grouped enemies, especially after she’s accumulated resets from taking down enemies.
Katarina is a high-mobility champion, which means you’ll need to be aware of how her abilities work and how to best use them to maximize damage while minimizing time spent within the enemy’s range.
When played correctly, she can easily snowball out of control, turning a small lead into a game-changing advantage. However, she’s notoriously difficult to master due to her reliance on combos and timing.
Katarina doesn’t fit into every team composition, as she can be very vulnerable to CC and requires a lot of positioning to fully capitalize on her burst potential. She excels in mid-to-late game teamfights and can shred squishy backliners, but she’s very dependent on the flow of the game and the skill of the player behind her.
Verdict: Katarina is an extremely high-potential champion who thrives in skilled hands. She’s best suited for players who enjoy executing fast-paced, combo-heavy gameplay and can handle her fragile nature in exchange for high burst damage.
Skill priority:Q→ E → W
Galio (S)
Galio is perfect for players who prefer a tanky mid laner. While mid laners traditionally tend to be squishy with high damage output, Galio breaks that mold by bringing some Demacian tankiness into the fight.
In the current meta, Galio is especially effective against squishy mages and ranged champions in the mid lane, as his tankiness and engage options make him difficult to poke out of lane. His ultimate can also be a game-changer since it can move him across the map to join a fight before it ends.
While he’s not a hyper-carry or damage dealer, his utility in protecting carries and disrupting enemies makes him an extremely valuable pick for a supportive playstyle. That said, he can struggle when unable to engage or when his team lacks coordination.
Verdict: Galio is a unique mid laner experience that substitutes the usual squishy nature with a tanky presence and CC. He can cross the map and reposition quickly to support the team.
Skill priority:Q→ W → E
Bot Lane (ADC) Tier List

Tier | Character |
S+ | Ashe, Kog’Maw, Jinx |
S | Vayne, Karthus, Hwei, Sivir |
A | Yasuo, Lux, Seraphine, Swain, Ziggs, Twitch, Brand, Tristana, Veigar |
B | Zeri, Lucian, Samira, Miss Fortune, Smolder, Kai’Sa, Aphelios, Draven, Caitlyn |
C | Varus, Xayah, Senna, Yunara |
D | Kalista, Jhin, Ezreal, Nilah, Corki |
Ashe (S+)
One of the original 50 champions, Ashe has left a mark on League of Legends that won’t go away, no matter how many new, mechanically advanced, or tricky champions with flashy abilities are released. Ashe brings a simplicity to League of Legends that seems to still work despite years of being overshadowed by younger champions.
Ashe excels as a safe, consistent pick, particularly in team compositions that require a reliable utility-based sharpshooter. While not the highest burst damage dealer, she provides excellent zone control, kite potential, and crowd control through her arrow.
Her role is to poke, peel, and set up teammates for success, often serving the backbone of the team’s frontline as she consistently dishes out damage from a safe distance. Ashe can scale well into the late game, offering significant teamfight presence, but her effectiveness relies on positioning, timing, and map awareness.
Verdict: Ashe is a great pick for players who enjoy a more strategic, controlled playstyle. She requires good positioning and awareness to be maximally effective, making her a solid choice for players at all levels who can manage her utility and play with her long-range potential.
Skill priority:W→ Q → E
Kog’Maw (S+)
For the longest time, Kog’Maw has been considered a successful pick when playing various roles, thanks to his unmatched late-game DPS potential and unique builds. In the bot late, he’s exceptionally strong when paired with an enchanter who keeps him alive as long as he’s melting through the front lines.
His W (Bio-Arcane Barrage) ability amplifies his attacks. If positioned correctly, he can deal consistent damage from a safe range. However, this will require some support and strategy, since mobility isn’t in Kog’Maw’s favor when a situation turns dicey.
Verdict: In the right hands and compositions, Koh’Maw is a beast who deals massive amounts of damage, even though he’s prone to crowd control and stealthy assassinations.
Skill priority: W → Q → E
Jinx (S+)
Jinx continues to excel as a top-tier ADC, thanks to her excellent scaling and team fight dominance. Her gameplay style is reset-heavy, letting you enjoy a strong passive movement and attack speed after takedowns. You will notice her finesse during 5v5 fights, where she can wipe out enemies during frontline engagements.
Her kit offers a strong lane-control playstyle, even with slow early game progress. Her R (Super Mega Death Rocket!) ability improves map presence, along with sniping potential. With all this in mind, make sure you build a strategy that lets you contribute to the fight from a safe distance.
Verdict: Her early game survivability lets her take over the map slowly, keeping an ideal playstyle for players who love the thrill of resetting combos and prefer high-reward scaling over the game’s progression.
Skill priority:Q → W → E
Vayne (S)
Vayne thrives in patch 25.14 primarily due to buffs to on-hit itemization. Her W (Silver Bolts) capitalizes on prolonged auto‑attack trades by dealing percentage health true damage, enabling her to melt tanks in extended confrontations. Combined with excellent mobility from Q (Tumble) and invisibility stealth from R (Final Hour), Vayne becomes a nightmare in the late game.
Matchups favoring Vayne involve extended fights or catching out-of-position targets, where she shines as a mobile assassin. She struggles early against heavy poke or pressure, but once her core items come online, she outpaces most ADCs in raw DPS and split-push effectiveness. Skilled players can abuse her high-risk, high-reward kit to single-handedly carry fights.
Verdict: Vayne is a strong S-tier ADC for mechanically skilled players who enjoy scaling into the late game and have high outplay potential.
Skill priority: W → Q → E
Hwei (S)
Hwei has emerged as an S-tier pick in Patch 25.14 thanks to her exceptional poke and wave-control in bot lane. Her Q harass is lane-dominant, allowing her to consistently pressure melee or short-range ADCs early, while her W grants sustain and positional advantage. Team fight presence remains strong as she zones with range and controls space effectively.
Her kit synergizes well with enchanter supports and compositions focused on poke and zoning. With on-hit items now stronger, she tightens her mid-game power curve, hitting key breaks faster than typical mages or assassin-styled ADCs. Hwei excels in coordinated play but scales well in solo queue if you maintain distance and focus on objectives.
Verdict: Hwei is a powerful S-tier ranged ADC pick, bringing poke, lane control, and teamfight utility—ideal for both lane suppression and scaling into mid game.
Skill priority: Q → W → E
Support Tier List

Tier | Character |
S+ | Lulu, Sona, Milio |
S | Braum, Janna, Nami, Rell, Thresh, Soraka |
A | LeBlanc, Bard, Vel’Koz, Zilean, Galio |
B | Zyra, Shen, Camille, Zoe, Pantheon, Rakan, Zac, Hwei, Blitzcrank, Poppy, Leona, Alistar, Morgana, Karma, Pyke |
C | Brand, Seraphine, Tahm Kench, Nautilus, Xerath |
D | Yuumi, Swain, Lux, Elise, Taric, Maokai, Shaco, Renata Glasc, Sylas, Neeko, Senna, Mel |
Lulu (S+)
Lulu is one of the best supports in the current meta and belongs on the LoL support tier list, offering a perfect mix of peel, utility, and late-game scaling. She’s perfect as a support for hyper-carry ADCs like Jinx, Kog’Maw, or Zeri.
Her value is allowing ADCs to play aggressively while providing enough disengage to keep them safe. While she struggles against hard engage supports like Leona or Nautilus early on, her ability to protect and empower late-game carries makes her invaluable in extended fights. Whether you’re playing in solo queue or organized team play, she remains a top-tier pick.
Verdict: Lulu is one of the best support champions in the game, excelling at peeling and empowering ADCs. She’s easy to learn but requires strong positioning and awareness to be played at the highest level.
Skill priority: E→ W → Q
Sona (S+)
Sona is one of the strongest enchanter supports in Patch 25.14 thanks to her unmatched utility and late-game scaling. Her Q pokes enemies, her W heals and shields allies, and her E boosts movement speed, all while charging her passive for bonus effects. Even in passive lanes, Sona slowly chips away at enemies and scales into a powerful teamfight force with very little risk or mechanical difficulty.
Her R (Crescendo) is one of the game’s best AoE crowd control tools, capable of turning entire teamfights in a single cast. While she’s squishy and lacks hard disengage, Sona thrives when she’s allowed to sit safely behind a frontline and spam abilities. She’s easy to learn and incredibly rewarding in the late game.
Verdict: Sona is an S+ pick for her high scaling, team-wide utility, and one of the strongest teamfight ultimates in the game.
Skill priority: Q → W → E
Milio (S+)
Milio is a top-tier enchanter support who empowers ADCs better than almost anyone in the game right now. His W grants bonus attack range and healing, turning ranged carries into unstoppable forces. His E provides instant shields and movement speed, making him excellent at protecting squishier teammates and repositioning during fights.
What makes Milio truly special is his ultimate, a massive AoE cleanse and heal that shuts down CC-heavy compositions. He thrives in metas where ADCs are strong and benefits from on-hit item buffs that push hyper-carries to the forefront. Milio is easy to learn and has a massive impact even without flashy mechanics.
Verdict: Milio is an S+ enchanter who excels at protecting carries and swinging teamfights with one perfectly timed ult.
Skill priority: W → E → Q
Nami (S)
Nami makes it on the list for simply being one of the most reliable supports in League for a very long time. Her kit is unique enough that it takes careful timing and aim to leverage her fully. Her Q is a tricky but rewarding skillshot that stuns enemies, setting up perfect engages or peeling for teammates. Her W provides both sustain and poke, bouncing between allies and enemies to heal or deal damage depending on positioning.
She pairs exceptionally well with ADCs who thrive on short trades, like Lucian or Kai’Sa, amplifying their damage output significantly. While she doesn’t have the sheer durability of tankier supports or the shield-heavy utility of someone like Lulu, her ability to poke, heal, and set up game-changing fights keeps her competitive in a variety of team comps. All in all, Nami can help an ADC scale early and get ahead of the enemy.
Verdict: Nami rewards smart positioning and precise skillshot timing, making her a high-impact champion at all levels of play.
Skill priority: W → E → Q
Braum (S)
As a top-tier support option, Braum holds the potential to shut down enemy engages and protect his ADC thanks to his Unbreakable ability. On the other hand, Q (Winter’s Bite) lets him poke, stun, and follow up. With the Font of Life, Bone Plating, and Unflinching Runes, a Guardian build shows a lot of promise.
When it comes to the R (Glacial Fissure’s) ultimate ability, strategically using it can lead to powerful disengagement and crowd control potential. Positioning Braum between your backline and the enemy can help you protect the team better, resulting in safer and effective fights. Rather than being aggressive, think tactically with his kit.
Verdict: Braum thrives in well-coordinated and solo-queued games, making him ideal as a go-to support option during challenging fights.
Skill priority: Q → E → W
Janna (S)
Janna is a powerful champion with a kit that revolves around protecting her backline with slows, shields, and disengagement tactics. She’s great at sustaining ADCs through her E (Eye of the Storm) ability, while disrupting divers with Q (Howling Gale) and R (Monsoon). Runes like Gathering Storm and Manaflow Band often favor her overall gameplay.
To excel as Janna, you need to read fights and respond accordingly. She excels at punishing enemy dives, especially when paired with powerful carriers. Her mobility aids her map awareness, letting you assist junglers as well as resetting waves when needed. As a good Janna player, you must reposition often, based on how the situation around you evolves. She’s best played around mid-to-late game scenarios.
Verdict: Janna is the perfect pick for players who value map awareness, positioning, and timing. She rewards a smart gameplay loop, allowing safe yet impactful plays.
Skill priority: W → E → R
How To Get Better at League of Legends
Games like League of Legends can be demanding. Playing champions out of the LoL champion tier list isn’t enough to climb the ranks. Improving in League of Legends isn’t just about mechanics — it’s about decision-making, teamwork, and game awareness.
The reality is that the more you play your favorite champions, the better you’ll get at their style of play. It’s like learning how to play different RPG classes; through repetitive practice, you’ll learn how to move optimally on each champion, use their kit, and refine your League of Legends game for higher ranks.
For example, if you find yourself getting upset or frustrated during games, consider reading more about how to deal with gamer rage to keep your head in the game.
- Use pings to communicate with your team: This is important for MOBA games, co-op games, and most team-based titles. Not everyone types in chat (and let’s be honest, sometimes that’s for the best). Playing games with friends or strangers online means communication is key. Using pings to alert teammates about enemy movements, missing champions, or incoming fights keeps everyone on the same page without needing to type mid-game.
- Synchronize your offense: Diving into a fight alone is a fast track to the gray screen. Wait for your team, layer your CC, and time your engages so your team can follow up rather than watch you get deleted.
- Don’t get baited into an ambush: In MOBA games, if an enemy is overextending with no vision, chances are they’re not actually alone. Always consider the possibility of a trap before chasing down a “free” kill.
- Keep an eye on the mini map: The mini map is your best friend. Checking it regularly helps you track enemy movements, spot potential ganks, and position yourself better for fights and objectives.
- Weigh objectives against the risk: Just because Baron or Dragon is up doesn’t mean you have to take it. If your team isn’t in position or the enemy is closing in, it’s better to disengage than to force a bad fight. This is a recurring theme in MOBA games, in which small victories can be worth the patience and planning.
- Help your jungler: A struggling jungler means a struggling team. Offer assistance when they invade, ward key jungle entrances, and don’t leave them to fend for themselves when contesting objectives. A little backup goes a long way.
