What Is the Fortnite Ranked System?

How Do Fortnite Ranked Levels Work?

You can face any other player in the queue in an unranked game. With ranked games, however, you and other players in a lobby will be around the same level. Fortnite has two ranked game modes: Battle Royale and Zero Build. While you can play both options and earn points, each mode contributes to its own separate rank. As a result, you can have a Battle Royale rank that’s different from your Zero Build rank. 

• Battle Royale: Battle Royale offers classic Fortnite gameplay, similar to unranked. You can queue up on your own for a single-player showdown or join friends as a duo or squad. 
• Zero Build: This mode aligns more with traditional battle royales, focusing less on building and more on PvP. The only queue option available for Zero Build is Duo.

Bronze

Bronze is the first tier of the Fortnite rank system, and it’s where every player starts in their journey to the top. Because Bronze is Fortnite’s entry rank, you can expect to see a lot of other beginners and inexperienced players here. Spend time here mastering the game’s basic skills and climb from Bronze III to Bronze I before advancing to Silver.

Silver

Diamond

When you reach Diamond, you’ve reached the final tier with divisions. Currently, less than 8% of all Fortnite Battle Royale ranked players hold this rank — fewer than all the other ranks thus far. Elite

Elite is the first rank tier with no divisions and the first tier where you no longer need to worry about being demoted. • Prioritize placement over early fights: Watching your kill count rise is exciting, but it’s not the best way to rank up. Instead, you want to focus on how you perform in the overall match rather than how many early fights you can win, securing a high placement for a better chance at ranking up. 
• Drop at low-traffic points of interest: It can be tempting to drop in on the action early to secure extra kills and loot, but it also puts you at risk of losing early on. Drop at low-traffic points to gather supplies and pick off opponents in 1v1s instead of diving in headfirst.
