Head to the Stormveil Castle, defeat Godrick the Grafted, and exit through the back of the arena. Cross the bridge from the Limgrave Tower Bridge Site of Grace and take the teleporter at the end, which brings you to the base of the bridge.

In the early hours of Elden Ring, the Divine Tower of Limgrave seems impossible to reach! It quietly looms beyond a broken bridge, shrouded in mystery. However, once you figure out how to reach the tower, it will help you activate powerful runes, granting incredible stat boosts and special effects. This article covers the steps needed to reach and unlock Limgrave’s Divine Tower, and what you can do there.

Where To Find the Bridge Leading to Limgrave’s Divine Tower

If you’re new to the game and wondering how to get to Divine Tower of Limgrave, you’ll need to first defeat Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle. You’ll activate the Limgrave Tower Bridge Site of Grace as soon as you do this. Here, you’ll spot the broken bridge, which can feel confusing, but this is exactly where you’ll need to head eventually.

As you step onto the eerie bridge and cross paths with annoying giant stone golems, you are free to sprint and save yourself from the trouble of fighting. Use Torrent’s help and keep going! Midway across the bridge, you’ll find a teleporter pad guarded by one of the golems.

Interact with it, and instantly transport yourself to the broken part of the bridge. This is where you’ll find the tower’s base, and a lift will take you to the tower’s top.

Pro tip: Getting to Limgrave’s Divine Tower can be quite tiring for you and Torrent, so make sure you rest and recover at the Limgrave Tower Bridge Site of Grace. Also, you should equip armor or talismans that boost stamina and defence.

The Two Routes To the Divine Tower of Limgrave

There are two ways to reach the Divine Tower after defeating Godrick: You can either accept Gatekeeper Gostoc’s offer to open a shortcut or decline it and proceed through Stormveil Castle’s main path.

If You Accepted Gostoc’s Offer To Open the Main Gate

While it may seem easy and straightforward to just let Gostoc open the main gate for you, it can be a trap if you’re not confident in your skills! Once the front gate opens, you’ll be greeted with all kinds of enemies: crossbowmen, heavily armored guards, and groups of weaker enemies that group up on you. If you still decide to take this route, you can sprint through the initial enemies and push through until you find the large staircase.

Multiple enemies, including a dangerous axe-wielding knight, also guard these stairs. Once you defeat him, there’s a new door behind the arena that will unlock, letting you access a pathway leading to the Limgrave Tower Bridge Site of Grace.

Pro tip: This route is much faster if you’re confident in your combat skills. Make sure you’re equipped with high physical and fire resistance, since many enemies here use firebombs or flaming attacks. Also, be wary of ranged attackers.

If You Declined Gostoc’s Offer and the Gate Is Closed

If you declined Gostoc’s offer, the front gate will remain closed, and you’ll need to take a stealthier approach along the cliffs. This path begins at the left side of the main gate, at a broken section of the wall that lets you drop down onto ledges. We recommend taking this path since this is the game’s way of telling you, “So, you don’t like to take shortcuts! Brilliant!”

As you explore this path, you’ll go through Stormveil’s shady hallways and rooftops patrolled by aggressive Stormveil guards and giant birds. As long as you take them out one by one, they aren’t a challenging threat. Along the way, you’ll find a lot of valuable loot, upgrade materials, and consumables.

You’ll face mini-bosses and elite enemies once you reach the path that reconnects with the main castle interior. You’ll eventually reach Godrick’s throne room, and after the boss fights, you’ll make your journey to the Divine Tower bridge.

Keep in mind that this location is close to Agheel Lake South, one of the early-game spots to grab a Larval Tear. So, explore as much as you can!

Pro tip: Try to use ranged weapons or throwable items to deal with the annoying birds along the rooftops. If you’re not careful, they’ll swarm and knock you off the ledges. Using crouching and other stealth tactics will come in handy, too.

Crossing the Bridge To the Divine Tower of Limgrave

After unlocking the door behind Godrick’s arena, keep following the route to Limgrave Tower Bridge Site of Grace, which marks the start of your journey to the Divine Tower. Be careful, and only fight the golems when you need to. They wield giant bows and weapons and can instantly eliminate you if you’re not careful.

A simpler way is not to engage and keep dodging or sprinting (with Torrent) until you make it to the teleporter. This thing will safely teleport you to a location isolated from other spots. Once you level up a bit more, you can always come back to the bridge to fight those enemies.

Pro tip: The bridge is one of Elden Ring’s farming spots in the early game. Keep farming those golems!

Best Builds for Reaching the Divine Tower of Limgrave

Once you’ve figured out where the Divine Tower of Limgrave is, there are some weapons and loadouts that can make the journey easier. These picks will help you fight the golems and optimize your gameplay for better mobility and defense.

  • Class: Out of all the classes in Elden Ring available at the start, picking Samurai or Warrior can provide a balanced gameplay, thanks to their melee and defensive capabilities. Alternatively, the Astrologer and Prophet builds can help you snipe from afar and stay a bit stealthier.
  • Weapons: Light and fast weapons that don’t require you to level up in Elden Ring early on can help. These include the Scimatar, Uchigatana, and any Greatbow or Crossbow.
  • Talismans: The Green Turtle Talisman is a great pick for boosting your endurance for those extra sprints, while Radagon’s Scarseal helps you boost strength when using heavy weapons.
  • Consumables and spells: Stock up on Throwing Daggers or Firebombs if you’re not a sorcerer. Spells like Glintstone Pebble, Beast Claw, or Flame Sling help you inflict damage from afar. Just make sure you’re using spells that synergize with the best staves in the game.

What To Do at the Divine Tower of Limgrave

Exploring the castle and roaming around eventually leads to our next step. After figuring out how to open Divine Tower of Limgrave, you’ll need to activate a Great Rune by approaching a glowing rune arc altar where you restore Godrick’s Great Rune.

Once it’s activated, you can equip it at any Site of Grace to improve your stats. This will certainly make you more confident when progressing through further boss locations in Elden Ring across the Lands Between.

What’s Inside the Divine Tower of Limgrave

Inside this mysterious tower is a peaceful, enemy-free safe zone with a large elevator that takes you from the base to the upper level. A fresh Site of Grace awaits you halfway up. Once you’re at the top, you’ll find a glowing glyph where you must activate Godrick’s Great Rune. After activating the Rune, it’s a great idea to further explore the area to find Sacred Tear locations.

How To Use Godrick’s Great Rune

After you’ve restored Godrick’s Great Rune at the Divine Tower, it’s time to equip it. Simply head to any Site of Grace and make it a part of your loadout. However, the Rune’s special effects will only be activated when you consume a Rune Arc. Doing so grants you a powerful +5 boost to all attributes, including Vigor, Strength, Dexterity, Faith, and more.

It’s excellent for early to mid-game scenarios, especially if you’re playing offline and aren’t relying on co-op or summons for boss fights. It’s also good for experimenting with builds (such as top-tier Faith weapons) or hybrid loadouts that you’d like to try out.

Pro tip: Save your Rune Arcs for major boss fights, tricky dungeons, or online sessions where you need a serious buff in your stats.
