Fortunately now there is a way to move closer to your friends, bad news is someone has to open their wallet. Buy and use a "Gateway of Precision"
Bit pricey on its own, but they are often found in the packages.
It would be nice if there was a one time quest that players could win one. Yes some revenue would be lost, but players will still buy them for the ability to move close, hit, and head back to their preferred location.
Lady shewuvsyou, as you can see the map of Darkshine grows every day. I totally agree with you, the closest location of your friends' castles makes you feel safe and sound. Your friend and you can use Castle relocation option. You may find more information about this update in News and Announcements section or in the game Guide.
It's easier to fight against the hordes of enemy's troops alonside your Alliy! Good luck, my Lady!

Doesn't really matter, because people can still track you through your league. All league members is displayed in a list with location for all to see.

Upon inspection in aforementioned area of the store, I did not see anything there that would allow me to relocate. If it's only in a bundle, could you share the name of it? Sorry to bug you, Oberon. Just want to live near my roommates. xD

My Lord, this is made for our players not to play hide&seek. Just imagine a warrior who uses Castle relocation to escape the battle. Our brave Stormfallers don't act like this! We, a brave and noble people, are always ready to meet the enemy face to face! So if an opponent uses Gateways of Chance or Precision, you are able to find his / her Castle.

That is actually very strange.
You are looking in the right spot and have the right buildings (house of scrolls) I didn't think there was any restrictions on the item to begin with so maybe Lord Oberon has some insights.

Lord Tony Hobson, Succubus, Assassins or Renegades are too danger uncontrollable creations. Our brave warriors risk to upgrade them, though the responsibility of such actions rests with themselves. 
Besides, upgrading of these Lost Arts with no quest is a sign of your independent development and experience.

My Lord, remember, the Goddess Mara is the one who brought the Amulets to the lands of Stormfall. To receive these Amulets, you must first honour her by sacrificing Gold and Iron at the Altar of Mara. This is an old ritual which requires time and devotion.
Lady shewuvsyou, if I'm not mistaken you are playing on Untamed Lands, not on Dark Plains server. Gates of Relocation have not been added on the second server yet. This feature will be released in the future.

Lord Oberon has promised to replace the bot castles with Vacant Lots - now that we have over 600 on server2 maybe they will honor their promise and give you the option to relocate soonLord Oberon said:

I hope so, I managed to get my roommates into the game, but they hate how far away we are. :(
Ladies, our mages will bring the magic of the Castle relocation on Untamed Lands some day.

My Lord, I'm Lord Regent and Protector of Stormfall, to attack my castle would be high treason. The only reward you are going to get for treason is a permanent banishment. We don't want any of this in Stormfall, however. Therefore my castle is protected by the Gods. Focus on attacking your enemies and Balur's Horde to receive rewards, please. Not your protectors.
Who are our enemies? Is it Balur alone? Or including every other players from other non-allied leagues? The other lords that also pledge support to you to fight Balur that you consider are our enemies? LOL
And if our enemies including other players as well, then why are you Lord Oberon, the fictional character of this fantasy, interested to create such a large warring factions throughout your fictional land? And I feel you are giving out far more rewards for us to go against each others than to go against Balur.
