Please note that champion chase Tourny is listed twice for the rare. Does this mean that you can get 2 rates from the chase? Or is this a mistake and there are only 15 rares available?

I think you will get 2 rares. Both the Champion Chase and Summon Rush have historically had 2 milestones for rewards, given they are the ones centred around shard openings, and therefore money opportunities for Plarium. Summon Rush has both the epic and rare, while Champion Chase has 2 rares

How do I play champion chase and summon rush? I can open for the 2x blue shards on champion chase. I also have 2 void and 1 gold. Do I use them now? Then use my green shards for the summon rush?

how many shards do you have? if you're worried about not having enough, the safest bet would be to skip the champion chase completely and try to get the epic from the summon rush, which should take 3000-3500 based on prior fusions.

skip the champion chase and go all in on the summon rush. it's certainly possible that you could complete both events with that number of shards, particularly with x2 on ancients, but it's by no means guaranteed. hitting the kinagashi drop from summon rush is guaranteed unless plarium decides to arbitrarily raise the point threshhold (which seems pretty unlikely, but at the same time this is plarium we're discussing here so i can't rule it out entirely).

Getting the epic from Summon Rush like Carpe is suggesting would mean you don't need all 16 rares, just 12.
I think I would do the same thing in your shoes.

Managing Champion Chase and Summon Rush is a massive part of approaching these types of fragment/frusion events. I predict that you will need about 3500 points if you are aiming for the epic in Summon Rush. With your current shard count, this comes to 3781 points (500 for the sacred, 240 for both the epics, 800 for the 40 ancients, and 2241 for the Mystery shards).
It will be close, and you would need to open pretty much all your shards, including sitting through about 2000 Mysteries. If you do attempt this, I would recommend doing it when the Champion Training event is on so that you can at least gain points while you are feeding the excess champions
The other thing to note is that the Summon Rush is still a week away. Can you have a look at what daily login rewards you have for the next 7 days? Also, have you gotten the free sacred from getting max stars in all Campaign stages? What's your faction wars looking like for upcoming rewards. The reason I say this is because if you can get even 1 more sacred it would ease the process considerably

Right on.
Pretty much every aspect of Fusions except the aforementioned Champ Chase/Summon Rush become routine. There are some exceptions where point thresholds for the other tourneys/events changed a ton (Karato comes to mind), but overall it does become predictable and the planning process becomes fairly automated.

I buy shards from the market. I can continue farming brutal 12.3. That will give me another 250-300 shards before the summon rush. It increases my chances.

I can get a monthly pack of 1 sacred, 3 voids and some junk for $30. That should be enough to put me over the top for sure. $30 is not too much to get a great champ.

If you are going to spend money to get a champ, Helicath is certainly the one to do this for, at least since Brogni.

That is correct, re: obtainable from shards.
It's just the fusion that's time sensitive. Unless explicitly specified you can always assume this is the case with regards to any champ being pullable from shards.

Most champions are usually retrievable by shards too. The challenge with shards is that not only is a small chance of getting a legendary, it's a much smaller chance of getting a specific legendary. This is where these types of fusion/fragment events are incrediably useful, because it allows us to specifically get this legendary champion to add to our roster.

Cracking large amounts of mystery shards is fun to me. I like the suspense of who will I get. I just keep feeding them to other food in the tavern and leveling them up.
