This is happening from mid silver. You see lot of teams with Arbiter where theorically that teams should be at Gold 4 (it would be ok if you find some because Arbiter can also be obtained with shards but if every refresh has 7/10 Arbiters there is clearly something wrong here).

Then at Gold it becomes completely crazy, new players like me are matchmaked with ppl with 4M power accounts. And as far as I know some months ago people was able to reach G4 easily so they could farm medals and complete Arbiter mission, and this has been capped for new players, which is far from fairness.

Its either bring back bots or lower the arbiter/gh requirements, so everybody new and old players are given the same chances to complete this part of the game.

For me personally, which have recently been able to complete dungeons at 20, and that was able to level GH to almost the last point to complete the arbiter requirements when the arena was full of bots (like everybody did, not something I've benefit from), if this not improve in 1 week I'll probably just quit playing because june 2 two games I like a lot launch new dlc/expansions and this added to the lack of motivation seeing its impossible to progress will make me stop playing rsl and spending money on plarium.

I've said it before this new "tweak" was live, and I'll say it again, arena needs a rework, specially in the point system.
No amount of matchmaking tweak can ever help Arena since it's highly dependant on numbers of active players which I am certain that they are dropping significantly right now.

Agreed, I'm in Silver III and it's so hard to play. Very time consuming on each battle and loss 50% or more.

No way to progress further, so many Arbiters around.

Gold 4 for me

There is zero chance of me beating any of the opponents I am presented with 

One thing i noticed today (G1) is i got hit 3 times in an hour by the same person- it cost me 27 points and almost dropped me out of gold

There must be very few active players available for this new algorithm matchmaking for him to get me 3 times upon refresh.

Oh and mid silver onwards is full of arbiter leads, it was hell to get past.

I reached G1 last reset by doing exactly that, I had a paper with the names of ppl that I had won, and I refreshed the arena page until I saw them again. I fought the same team with only one Arbiter like 3 or 4 times. Spent like 100 gems but it worked so yes, its pretty clear that the pool of players which you can fight against is very small. Not gonna do again because after being in G1 you realize you are playing vs 4M accounts and almost all have Arbiter. So while it may be a way to reach higher tier by spending gems, clearly you gonna need to be doing that 24/7 to stay in the rank.

At the same time I noticed there was ppl fighting with me several times and I saw super weird things like 3 matches with the same guy, I won 1 (+10), I won another (+0??) and I lost (-10), so after 3 matches I did not get a single point despite winning 2-1.

I frequently see the same teams between refreshes as well. Once, I had to double check that I actually did refresh because literally every team I could see without scrolling was the same as it had been before. Some of the ones further down had changed though, but still, 5 out of 10 or so were the same.

And yeah, I also try to go for repeat wins against opponents I've fought before, and avoid those I've lost to. It's a bit of a dick move, but I figure they can do the same and there's no point in taking it personally considering how the arena works.

Thank you for your feedback! However, I should say that your statement is difficult either to address or to process as it is now. Please, consider sharing some screenshots with us of teams that you face and your own roster of Champions. This way, you can make more clear what sort of issue you have. In turn, it makes us easier to explain the current state of events to game designers.

Also, it might be helpful for you to get some piece of advice from other players

The last part is normal - if you attack a player repeatedly until you get the win, he will only win points for his first successful defense. For further attacks after that, the attacker will keep losing points with each failed attack but the defender won't gain any anymore. They implemented that to avoid people boosting their friends' ranking by repeatedly losing on purpose against them. 

I might sound unpopular here, but I will give you my feedback. 

Not so long ago my account power was 530 with many heroes in full gear.
In arena with a decent team I was in bronze II/III. Then I looked for info how to improve in arena and I found it. 

I have taken off all artefacts from all heroes (except the ones I use in arena) and managed to reduce my account power to 310. Now with the same team I managed to reach silver III.

My priorities now are getting medals for Geat Hall. Naturally I am struggling big time with other concepts of the game. But I will get back to them later.

In conclusion. If you are a new f2p player you can't have everything: being good in Arena, Faction wars, dungeons, CB and Doom tower is impossible. Sort it out what is more important for you at this time and go for it.

S4 or G1, dont remember. Im level 66 with <1M power. They all have ~1.3M if S4, up to 4M if G1.

All that teams with Arbiter have been able to reach G4, and stayed in Gold enough time to farm 3400 gold medals and now are stopping new players when trying to do the mission they did to obtain Arbiter.

Just put the bots back!

Stop pissing off 95% of your players by making the earning of gold medals, upgrading the Great Hall, getting Arbiter all impossible.

Simple.

Not enough to be competitive in S4/G1

Had to laugh last night at the new coldbrew account take over video where he worked on someone's arena team. The guy was sitting on a arbiter with 240 speed, but hey at least he was able to farm up to G4 being that clueless and undergeared last year while "bots never existed".

Almost identical speed to me, i have lost 6 on the trot tonight (beaten for speed) and back in S4, every week the opposition seem two or three speed faster

When i first started playing - i hit G2 within 3 months and to be honest i wasnt really paying attention the first few months, i think i had kael as a lead!.

Where have all the weak defence teams gone?

Has the matchmaking algorithm been fixed to never present these as opponents anymore?

Slowly sliding down the ranks after the 'fix'...
