Does anyone know for caches, are the defender's offensive stats used or the defensive stats used when another players attacks the cache?

Just trying to find out if it's better to send defensive troops (Paratroopers, Marines, Katanas, Maulers, etc.) to a cache or offensive troops (Commandos, Grenadiers, Kaikens, Reapers, etc.).
