Champion chase means summoning, your best bet is having as many shard as you can.

Hero slots are only needed if you plan to save most of the heroes you summon, if not then just turn them into XP food.

But honestly I am a bit confused here, because you seem to be talking about champion training instead of champion chase

You should be able to dragon & golem? You will need a TON of shards to do champion chase, or $$$

What tier are you in for arena now? I was able to do 1st event in S2 with alt

Hopeless, unless you are ready for $$$$$$. 

Same to Summon Event, you may have 1/2 easy fragments, about 1000 - 1500 points, the other half are above 3500+ points. 

Another thing you could consider is to fuse any epics you can already fuse for Rhazin. Which will require the right rares, leveled and ascended to the right level during the current champion training event. If by any chance you get an epic from login rewards during champion chase, that helps as well - I will apparently. Though that one is obviously mostly a question of luck.

Dragon I can clear 13 on auto.  14 I can clear 20% of the time. 

I am Bronze 3/4.  I am building 2 new defense champs that I hope can get me to Silver and keep me there.

I watched a tube last night about Champion Chase.  He talked about how to get champions any way possible.  But he also mentioned having food in storage for upgrading.
