The goal of the sparing pit is not actually to help players level up their less used champs, but to keep "players engagement" high.

It's goal is so you as a player keep logging in, and logging in frequently. Thus making it "automatic" won't help Plarium get that goal.

I level my champions a bit before putting them to the pit, so that they take a few hours to level up.
