I agree it's probably the worst mission mainly due to the promotion aspect being weekly and you need to be in green to go up.  I spent a while trying then didn't bother for ages but when I went back I did it in about three weeks/tries, if it helps after reset for about three days you can find beatable teams - do that and get as high in green as possible.  You have to have a very strong defence, if your defence player power is 700 - 1 million you won't stay in green, you'll be attacked and lose points, drop whatever you are focusing on, put your best defence champs in your defence and gear them so your defence is about or over 1.1 million and really hard to beat, your defence is there to stay alive not nuke the opposition- it might not be the best defence out there but buitlt correctly it will deter a lot of attacks - it's frustrating but it worked for me

As mentioned, focus on putting in a boring tanky defence that is obviously annoying to a potential attacker.

I recently dropped to G2 as i didnt play tag at all for a week or so and i think i got hit a total of twice while in G2- people dont want to do the boring fights.

When new people want to "join" the ranks in those top tiers, they will have to outchamp/outgear people who have been playing the game for probably longer than new people, thus having most likely better champs/gear. There are limited number of spots and math dictates everyone cant get in.

I guess its an eternal battle, some say that 100 people wont fit into a bus with 20 seats, some whos already sitting in the bus will say how to use the steps to get onto the bus... 

2 top tier mmos i play now and then, ESO and GW2, in eso you get some armor sets from pvp and only from pvp, but you can sell them to pve players, in GW2 you can get same armor sets from both pve and pvp, whichever you prefer...balanced as all things should be 😁

I was going to make a sophomoric joke about letting someone sit on my lap, but I fear that would be considered inappropriate. 

They have expanded the tiers once, I could see it happening again.  I think adding 10 spots to each tier would be sufficient /s.  

Honestly a slight increase every year would make sense to me.

Well, you can all thank me, because the 17,000 is now at least 17,001. I went up to gold1 in 3v3 for the missions, it took me forever, but i did it. and the week after, i decided that gold1 was stupid. You can't even farm this mode easily more than 2-3 days a week, after which, everyone is so scared to go down they all put their defenses back up by Wednesday. Which means that to farm all your keys every day takes way too long.

So I decided on purpose to go all the way back to silver2. Screw the extra sacred shard. Spending 1-2 hours each day to farm a single shard each month, WASTE OF TIME.

G2 & G3 is where it is at for the best farming.  It is pretty easy to farm through Friday, and I never put my main defenses up until Friday night or Saturday morning unless I want to promote for whatever reason.

Lately I have been rotating G3-G4-G3-G4-G3 where I promote to G4 and then run weak defenses for 10-11 days and then fight real fights to promote back to G4 again.  However, those fights to promote back to G4 are getting tougher and more time-consuming with all the OP teams, so I think I am gonna fall back to doing G2-G3.    

That is what I used to do. Farm with no defence in G4 and drop to G3 , get back up into G4 the next week and repeat.

But just doing five tag matches was taking an hour when looking to repromote... Which is too long for just one mode of a game. 

Live is the killer for me, I have tried it three times, despite being in b1 the game managed to find me three level 100 opponents taking forever to move who picked boring, tanky teams

If I ever make Gold I think I'll do a one man defence for ever as the rewards aren't that great and I do not enjoy 3v3 at all. It must be said it has been 6 months and I am still not even close to getting to Gold I so this may never happen probably quit Raid first as trying to get Gold I is ruining my enjoyment of the game.
