Well infests are easy now :P
Since they are only an exchange and you can no longer win units (been tested) it's become kinda epically meh.
So it doesn't matter how you do them anymore really.
The missions (the small ones) are nowhere near good (5 troopers for having to do 5 infests? really? My lowest infest is lvl 70+ -_-, any idea how much troops killing seven of those costs?)so not worth it either in fact wouldn't mind seeing them removed.
The only "gain" is the Imp units but this is somewhat negated by the 3% resource tax on payouts.
So all you need to know about infests is that you will not get more out of it then you put in and all you basically do is exchange lower units for stronger units LOOOONNGGGG term.
The clan mission where you need to kill at least 100 points of infests? Again go try that when the lowest infest you have is lvl 70+ -_-
Most of the time you will not be able to get a reward from that either as you will need weeks just to kill a single infest at higher levels.
Also, since the bank has been increased to 150% don't expect to see a payout soon + you will not get the whole bankvalue anymore anyway as a part stays stuck in the to pay for the small payouts you get which also delay your big payout.
Oh and also if you do try doing it by chipping away at a ton of infests (hope you have a few years) and then hope you get a profit somehow by having lots of small payouts by killing all the yellowbarrd infests? ehh yeah no go there either.
We no longer have the bank reset itself to zero if you go into the negative after a reset. So you will have to fill up however much you went into the negative before having any chance of a bank payout.
So infests: Meh most people can do fine now without them if they build smart. So no matter what tactic or math you now use: infests = exchanging units at a small tax cost (3%)

@General T. Winters (16 September, 2015, 4:04 PM UTC):
Buildings: Develop the things that help decrease time spent as soon as possible (Resource buildings to increase their income, senate/research centre to decrease building/technology research times)
Technologies: Research new technologies before leveling up old ones, if applicable. Trade your duplicate modules for different modules so you can research it faster than just normally waiting until you get all the modules.
Raid points: Raid higher level, inactive sectors. Usually low level sectors will be good enough while you do not have enough troops to make your full raids. To find some decent farms, find some sectors level 30+ within ~300KM of your sector, and check back on their EXP bar every few days; If it moves none of very little over a large period of time, chances are they are inactive.
Offence/Defence points: I made a large post in Soldiers Inc about how PvP works (From observation). You can use this to minimize loses and increase your PvP total. ( http://forum.plarium.com/en/soldiers-inc/game-discussion/topics/battle-2/ )
Infestation points: Also in the above link.
Resource spending: Always prioritize your buildings/technologies over new units, if you are unable to afford both. Units are a one-time use, while buildings/technologies are forever. Also, make sure you get an Extractor Rig asap. It has no downsides and speeds up your resource gain enormosely
If Internet Explorer still asks to be your default browser, then you can do anything :D

Commanders, the contest is over! I can't say that I'm pleased with the results. I guess much more Commanders can share their experience and participate in such activities. Anyway, that's your choice.
Commander fakeasnever, thank you for your informative post about the Sector Development.
I think our new players will find it very useful!
