Entitlements, Really?!

Sheesh, when will it stop?

I certainly didn't start playing this game, so random people could mail me and tell me the rules for how I had to play.

REMEMBER - This is a war game, we can make as much peace or as much war as we would like.

Why are others attempting to force me and my members to play a certain style by citing some "rules" that they have decided I have to follow?

This entitlement attitude that people portray is just getting plain silly.  This isn't farmville!  Stop with the entitlements please.

I've been here since day one of the game... Only "rules" that apply to raiding is that if player A wants res and player B has res in castle, then player A has the choice to raid player B for the res, regardless of their activity level.

This game is dictated by players who hit others because they can and because they want something. If you don't want to be raided for resources, use your wits and use up all your resources or put out Defense to defend yourself with the knowledge that it could be killed.

Only "fair game" rule that I know of that has been around from the beginning of the game is that: "Nothing is off limits, everything is permissible"

Oh it get's better.

The guy got even more upset and then mailed me from his alt in Unforgiven Emperors:

[09:34] Knight Watcher : I do not have time for petty issues. I am simply asking you to mention to your members to show some courtesy, as you all would wish to be shown...

I can care less about DaM, or Fellowship, or what the computer says about how I should interrelate with any given league...

Bots are Fair Game, and we all do this as a courtesy for one another, period. I have never played Farmville, and do not care to, but thank you.

Please honor a NAP outside of PvP.

Thank you for your consideration.

Since his alt in FoD wasn't in a top 10 league, guess he decided to mail me from one of his accounts in the top 10, lol.

Does he think this somehow proves there is a "rule" about not raiding outside of pvp time?  And what give's him the right to decide that during pvp, its' ok to hit Destiny as much as he wants, but then isn't allowed to be retaliated upon after pvp ends?

STOP THE WHINING

You don't make up the rules and tell everyone else how to play the game, just because that's how you want to play the game.

Get over your Entitlements.

I have to agree with test on this one.  Some do take being attacked very personally, but there are ways to make oneself an unattractive target (especially when resources are the goal...just spend down or if you can't be spent down and have the sapph to spare, use protection).  From what I've noticed, the bots are getting ever more overfarmed. Chances are that as resources from bots get more scarce, we'll see more attacks on active players.

Telling others how to play generally does not inspire cooperation.  If anything, it makes people angry and likely to attack more, not less.

Also, its a bit hypocritical to use an account in Emperors, one of the most aggressive PvP leagues on the server, to complain about fair play and being raided.

But wait, there's more!!

http://prntscr.com/bg9806

Wow, how imporessive, he mailed 5 random people and they all happened to log online one after the other one minute apart from each other.  My goodness, this certainly couldn't be the person with the most alts in the game logging them one by one and responding or sending mails to another account could it?!?!

Then the threats continue....this guy is good.  He's gonna send in Unforgiven Emperors against Destiny to protect his resource alts....

What an "honerable" player you are!

[06:30] Knight Watcher : The responses have only started. If your players continue to hoard and reserve sieges in that area, and attack player castles as a result of normal and standard res raiding, we will not allow them to hold any sieges, and since sieges are "Fair Game" for all of us, if they decide to attack any of our castles, we ALL will respond to that as well...

Please talk with your players, Sanikhan & TMB_AM. If Destiny continues to make more enemies than allies, through dishonorable gameplay, what do you think the future holds?

BTW, FS only confirmed what the others in that area advised...

Be well :)

I'm sure there are some more entitlements for him to teach me about about, wonder what he will come up with next?

lol, he got one last msg in before I could block 'em and end the insantiy.  The best part about all of this, I had no idea who was doing what in his area, outside of what he told me, and now that he has made the people around him mad, and he chooses to blame me for the whole situation...

GROW UP, take some responsability, and MOVE ON.   You are NOT entitled with the right to tell people how to play the game.

The goal of this post is to bring awareness to a situation I'm sure many people have faced while playing on this server.  It's my hope that people become aware of what's happening, and help to shift the attitude from entitlement, to enjoyment.

As a group, let's stop the whining and start the playing.  If people want something to change, ask for it, don't demand it.  We are not entitled, we can be empowered.

Let's have fun!

I thought most players had grown out of whining, "You raided my fief!"  Apparently not so.  Wish I still had the scr shot of the Kardashian daughter bawlin miserably with the caption "They Raided My Fief... Shut Up And Send Another Archer."

Seriously... If I spy your siege... you see what res are there.  If there is a lot of res, I am goin to raid it.  if you value it a lot, then defend it... and put some spies on it if you don't want me to have a look.

I find defendin a siege to be a waste unless you have a particular reason to do so, such as tribute rankin.  I know who does tribute rankin & I don't bother their stuff... out of respect for the time & effort those players put into that.  Or other various reasons a player might have for defendin a siege.

Ordinary, dead castle fiefs pay 100/hour at most.  I can collect 1.5 times as much metal from a single raid on that as the besieger can collect an entire week by collectin from it as a fief.  Simple economics... raidin is pretty much always better... unless it's a lvl 60 bot castle, which pays 400/hour.

I took the "Fair Game" statement as bein about raidin of sieges.  I raid ally sieges all the time.  Most of them leave only 1 archer on them.  But if you are not my ally, I will approach with caution because you may be inclined to kill my units.

You are welcome to raid my sieges... except for one (which I will not name here).  Better spy first, tho, because I may have just farmed it yesterday.  :)

But if Destiny & FoD are not allied, then the "Fair Game" siege raid "Rule" does not apply.

So... can we PLEASE get over... once & for all... players raidin our sieges?  Inactive castles... bot line or whatever... are just resources.

I am in Knight Watcher's neighborhood and I did receive the letter he sent out.  He sent it to the active players in the neighborhood since many of us do cooperate, especially in dealing with bullies in the area.  The letter specified the issue was with 2 players in Destiny: Sanikhan & TMB_AM.  He asked us to attack their sieges on that bot belt.  Considering that it is several hours trip, I thought it a strange request.  Now that I see the post on the forum, I can see the reason for the request and choose not to participate.

I don't like bullies and I do see harassing players for breaking sieges on a bot belt as abhorrent behavior, but I'm not going to go several hours out of my way to start trouble with people harassing an alt's hunting grounds.  That is an issue for the players in that area to work out.

Judging by other's comments, crying over sieges being broken still happens, and there is still plenty of drama.  I generally leave sieges alone except when there are no good targets that are not under siege.  Then, sorry, but when you sit on 30 castles on a bot belt, chances are I'll hit a couple of them.  its nothing personal, just for the res.

It is not a league issue; its a personal issue.  Sieges are fair game, but there is no rule saying players can't attack over siege breaking.  I've had players attack me over all sorts of things...you'd think its a war game or something =P

There are three types I run across raiding:

1. Knows how to play: this player does nothing, says nothing and simply re-sieges the bot/dead castle or goes and finds another one to sit on with a "who cares, it's a fief" attitude. Knows that there are more out there if needed.

2. Knee-jerk sensitive: hunts for anything you might be sitting on and immediately blind raids to prove some point that usually escapes me but I find hilarious...

3. Flame thrower sensitive: Wastes saphs throwing fie bombs because you killed his favorite archer lmao

Of those in #'s 2 and 3 are the cowards who like to lie to stronger league mates or friends complaining that some bully is attacking them and convinces THEM to attack that person and open the potential for escalating irritation into the realm of stupid in a hurry. I try my best to teach those starting and working their way up to avoid being stupid but there is only so much you can do (sigh).

The bot cycle:

1. siege

2. milk

3. get raided

4. repeat

No where is listed complain, pout, moan, or be an idiot but YMMV...

I've run across the 3 types Coldmoon mentions as well as a couple others -

4. Attack Sensitive:  They see any attack on anything they consider "theirs" to be equal to attack on their castle and they will raid you over an attack on their fief.  A variation on this type are people who are just here to war.  They don't take stuff personally, but once they have your name and coords, you're added to their list of potential PvP targets.

5. Hot Air Sensitive:  They don't do anything on their own, just send threatening letters (I have friends in big leagues!  The wrath of *insert top 10 league name here* will descend upon you!) and tell lies to their league to try to get others to attack you. Like #s 2 and 3, they are the kind of coward that open potential for bigger conflicts.

I prefer to deal with 1 & 2. bots are too empty and since they have been mortalised as the centre of resources in the game people will get untitled. Is up to sane and rational players to educate and change these status quo.

Weathet these is the most senseable and best way I'd say no. I find starting a big ratite convo helps

They is info in the screenshots I will rather not see. Keep it PG :)

I get complaints about my members raiding peoples precious fiefs all the time.

Cant stand all the complaints.

I ask them nicely to please stop this as its wrong in every sense of a peaceful game such as "age of peace"

How will I ever get them to stop??

Any advice would be of great help.

Hey roftie,

The only response I see as reasonable is to ignore them unless it's from an ally or at peace and then refer them back to their own leadership who SHOULD have the sense GOD gave small apples to be able to tell their member to shut up and stop bothering them with stupid ****.

If they do however select stupid on the dial then teach them what "age of war" means...
