Resource idea: "Scrolls of Haste". Note, the figures are subjected to fine tuning and balance, but you get the idea-
Your keep produces 1 scroll a day by default, which is stored in your warehouse. Default starting number of scrolls housed is 25, raised to 100 max number of scrolls, once you upgrade House of Scrolls to 20. Scrolls of haste give a flat % boost to your troop production. With 25 scrolls, you get a 10% boost. With 50, you get 15%, with 75 you get 20%, and with 100 you get 25% boost to all troop build times (and possibly a nominal boost to resource production too). Once you reach 100 scrolls, you are given the option of instantly finish building a number of units in one build tab, for example 50 dragons, after which your scroll count drops to zero again.
Scrolls can be raided. I repeat :SCROLLS CAN BE RAIDED. Any successfull raid will yield starting from 2% up to 10% of the scrolls present in the raided castle´s warehouse. Obelisk of Power would include a new skull rune granting a bonus to raided scrolls.
Beacons also produce scrolls, along with DE, that can be awarded to league members. Successfull beacon attacks yield 25/50/75/100 scrolls to those involved, depending on beacon level, and softening blow players can be rewarded by the league marshal, once the beacon is taken. An alternative is to allow league attacks to be performed by more players. In fact, this should already be ingame.
The in-house production of scrolls can be increased. Scrolls can be purchased with Maranian amulets at the Altar of Mara, and a new relic could be created for the resource part of the Temple of War, granting a boost to production. And of course, scrolls can be awarded in events.
Thiefs can steal twice the amount of scrolls that other units can, making their use a huge plus, while also presenting a huge risk. No doubt something Plarium would like to boost thief sales :)). Spy missions will always reveal scroll count along with resources. Sieged castles have their scroll production halted, to prevent farming a bit (scroll keepers cannot write new scrolls while cowering in fear in catacombs, can they?).
I think such a resource would be a great adition to the game, encouraging raids and pvp. The important part is that it provides incentive to raid, while also providing a much needed boost to build times.
stones (fate stone maybe):- players win stones from killing units (both in BG and players units)
there will be a refine system where you put the stones into it (now the refine system has categories as follows:)
army: there will be 3 options : enhance units speed or enhance units basic off/deff or units training speed
for example : lvl 1 needs 10 stones in units training speed once completed units training becomes 1% faster and such
lvl 1 for basic off/deff once completed you get 1 % extra off and deff stats to all units in your army
production : three options gold or iron or food
lets say lvl 1 for gold production once completed you get 1% extra production (permanent)
lets say there is max 20 lvls (same for iron and food)
last category is war
in war you get a challenge once you complete a lvl
lets say you put 10 stones completing lvl 1 then you unlock challenge 1 and earn rewards (mainly units)
you can add another functionality which is build time (in the production category maybe) but there is the town hall for that and some players have already completed all their buildings
note: it is up to the players to choose where to invest the stones and you dont have to complete the BG to win them just by killing units (remember killing other players units or losing your own units in fights also wins you stones)
another idea is weors blood : you can win this in tournaments and hamlets (or by completing BG)
i will let you decide how to earn it
players will use weors blood to build special units (note add new units that dont require scroll discovery)
or ( i guess this one is better)
let it be used to create and upgrade a champion ( note : add champions system, let players recruit various champions using weors blood)
once a champion is recruited it adds special bonuses to all aspects of the game depending on its type for example :
war champions add faster unit build time and a better units stats
peace champion : decreases the cost of upgrading building/ lost art also increases speed
BG champion : decreases loses on BG and increases payouts
note players can recruit only these three or more (i just covered some basic functionalities) champions but can only deploy(activate) one players have to use the champion when they need it based on what they are doing in game however 3 champions are max to be activated daily and lets say each activation is 1 hour (you balance it as you see fit oberon) but increases when the champion is upgraded lets say lvl 2 becomes 2 hours
once a castle is raided peace champion dies and goes to recovery (free recovery only upgrades cost weors blood)
once a raid fails the war champion goes to recovery (recovery time is based on champion lvl a lvl 1 champion takes 19 hours while a lvl 2 takes 18 for instance) ( again oberon i will let you balance it)
same thing for BG champion once a BG fails
once you used your three champions you have to wait till tomorrow (note activation does not require weors blood unless you add a building that produces it)

Have it apply to offense OR defense troops?
"Tainted blood" collected from doing BG's. Use it to infuse your weapons with kinda like "a lesser DE" a option for all those out there that doesn't have access to becons. Would give a bigger incentive for people to run BG's too.
Doesnt matter, you can do both OFF/DEF BG's. and people use DE at becons to darken offensive troops too. It would give lesser bonus than DE gives but. still worth it for those that doesnt have access to becons.
Another resource hmm let me think, it could be something like "Balur's blood" or "Warriors blood", it would be earned upon spilling blood of Balur, your foe's or even your own units !
What would it do ? Well you would have several ways of using it.
1st New type of units - Demi-gods - they could be just new units with improved stats, or they might work as legendary units but in really smaller scale (number of units needed could be decreased same as their effectiveness, the effectiveness would be only like 20% of legendary unit)
2nd You could perform a ritual to bless one of your structures to speed up the units creation.
3rd You would be able to just drink that blood saying YOLO, braging on how much enemies you killed + or you could be filling thirst - o - meter. Once full you would activate your paragon status.
4th you would be able to transfer it to one of the beacons as a reasonable amount of DE.
5th you would be able to revive with it max 10% of the units lost in a battle that took place outside of your castle and it was not a battleground.
