All games should do random events with an increasing chance of the drop as you get more unsuccessful attempts. In fact some games already do it.
The chances of getting 8 purples in a row is 256 to 1. Very unlikely right.
But if there are 20,000 people playing the game (at least that many suggested by the "first 20k get free stuff" on the new update), then you are going to get 78 people who experience what is supposed to be highly unlikely.
14 fails in a row sounds ridiculously unlikely and never going to happen. But the odds are less than 20,000 to 1 - so its almost guaranteed at least 1 player will experience that bad luck, if you have 20k players.
The bigger the number of people playing a game - the more likely it becomes that some player somewhere will experience what individually would be suggested to be "impossible".
