Coalition Conflict Tournament Has Been Updated

Coalition Conflict Tournament Has Been Updated
Prove Your Dominance In PvP For Even More Points!

Archon,

Ares requires ever more blood-spilling, so he has bestowed improvements upon the Coalition Conflict Tournament!

Coalitions will continue to compete for Points by completing Tournament Tasks, but now the following PvP Tasks will yield more Points than ever before:

- Destroy one of your opponent's Light Infantry Units, Universal Traps, or Light Infantry Traps
- Destroy one of your opponent's Heavy Infantry Units or Heavy Infantry Traps
- Destroy one of your opponent's Phalanx Units or Phalanx Traps
- Destroy one of your opponent's Cavalry Units or Cavalry Traps
- Destroy one of your opponent's Spying Units
- Destroy one of your opponent's Elysian Units

The god of war is not without heart, of course — if your Coalition earns more Points than its Opponent by the end of the Coalition Conflict, you can claim a superb Reward.

Interpret the auguries provided by the Tournament Statistics to see how best to proceed against your Opponent Coalition.

The Oracle at Delphi informs us the same extraordinary updates are coming to the Royal Coalition Conflict in the future.

Gather your Coalition Members, raise your doru and your aspis, and hit Hellas hard!

As Plarium deleted the original post topic on this update, let me try again.

I have spent years of time, effort and RSS including many many sketches and GP's on building up my trap capability.

With this 'improvemnt' update Plarium not only negate the value of traps they have rendered them a liability.

This update allocates the same CC points to traps taken out as to troops taken out.

The key difference is that troops get the benefit of city fortification, guardian boosts, ampitheatre boosts, E-Troop boosts, generals equipment boosts, market item boosts, dominion boosts, etc, etc

Traps get NONE of those protections.

The Plarium headline "Ares requires ever more blood-spilling, so he has bestowed improvements upon the Coalition Conflict Tournament! " is complete and utter marketing dribble.

No blood is spilt by any player with any sense. They simply use modest assassin or unit attacks to take out TRAPS (no blood there when I last checked). A fully Trapped up city generates about 75K in CC for minimal offensive outlay. My COA scored a staggering 160 million points exploiting this stupid rule change.

Does nobody on the development team actually play and test these ideas before they are released? For goodness sake abandon these badly thought out improvements.

One appalled, agast and very upset player.

Hello  Grim. The mods will remove a post only if it breaks the rules such as foul language, belittling others, bullying, trolling etc. Your text, as you posted now, doesn't break any rules. Keep in mind that the forum has filters that can delete a post or even ban a player if the filters think that rules have been broken. Those filters have banned me twice as a spammer lol. Players can contact me and Vanessa on Plarium Play, and ask for explanations or for assistance.
When the game speaks for blood it is because the traps and the units need resources to be produced, and boosts to produce them quickly, so rhetorical it is virtual blood. I'm playing the game on the FB server and the majority of the players love this change.  Of course, this change is only for the Conflict tournament, so most of the players have full protection when we are not online to avoid the assassins, plus a  defensive assassin guardian equipped to the vault, and our Mamertines out of Acropolis.  The secret is that we shouldn't use our lights and heavy infantry during this conflict, as we will give to the opponent huge points.  I'm really sorry that you don't like it.

1) My original post was 'politer' than my second. Plarium deleted the entire 'improvements' train for some reason and my post was deleted along with that move.

2) You are correct - the only way to play CC with the new rules is to bubble up for th entire CC. I am struggling to see why you "love" that style of play?

3) As I thought I made clear, it is of no value to have 100% assassin protection via mamertines, traps are not protected (coiners who buy the temporary city schema, their 100% assasin protection does protect traps - stange that)

Your answer totally ignores my key point, so let me once more restate:

I have spent years of time, effort and RSS including many many sketches and GP's on building up my trap capability.

How the heck is this an 'improvement'?

Do Plarium not comprehend that when your customer base has invested hugely into an aspect of the game and then someone decides to turn that aspect from useful to liability, how this erodes trust and respect.

In the curent CC, we are playing against Nordmann.

Their simple tactic is to find a defended city that does not have 100% assassin protection and then (from their purchased 100% bomb proof city schema's) send literally 1,000's of bombs to that city.

They have curently earned approaching 100 million CC points with this tactic.

Please tell me why this makes Sparta a good game to play for for 'normal' none pyschopathic players?

PS    I 100% agree with Grim_Reapers comment re traps - why create a feature that you then make a liability is beyond me.

Guys, it is a war game. I'm getting rains of political attacks from unknown players so, I',m always ready to bubble up to save my troops. Fully upgraded traps can hold 70 assassins, not 1000 assassins.
I can assure you, that being a member of top teams if you get assassins and not be online to bubble up, you will find yourself out of the team because the hegemon doesn't want to give points to the opponent. It is all about the Victorious battle at any cost.
When we started the game, we have been raided a lot, didn't we? It was the original form of a war game, just we forgot it.
Plarium's Specialists always monitor the game, and if they will notice that the majority of the players don't like this change anymore, they will switch it to more calmer mode 🙂

I find myself repaeting myself yet again (yep Albert I must be insame to think anyone at Plarium will actually listen and understand the core point I have now made 4 times - and the point ignored 4 times).

Through mamatine develope and my preparedness to leave many thousand of them out in my city, my city's troops are 100% protect from PA's. I welcome anyone other city to raid my city with troops, even against coiners I will get a decent share of the PVP etc rewards.

I would not care if someone sent 1,000 PA's against me EXCEPT for 1 reason AND 1 REASON ONLY - IN CC THE TRAPS THAT I HAVE SPENT MANYS YEARS AND RSS's BUILDING UP - GIVE AWAY A. 75k cc POINTS  FOR ZERO REWARD

As the CC is now the core way we build our armies, this rule change means you have 2 choices in CC:

  1. Have an 'friend' raid you before the CC until your traps are gone and not rebuild - many cities in my COA have done this
  2. OR Bubble the entire CC

How does this 'IMPROVE' the game?

Explain to me why a feature that I have so much invested in has been turned from something beneficial to something that is a liability - how is that an improvement?

You asked for a solution: Solution either return to prior CC rules OR at make traps worth about 10% or 20% the point value of actually killing a troop OR provide the same boosts/protections etc to traps, that troops enjoy

On anpother note.

I belive there is a a 'logic' error in the current game algorithm.

If your CC opponent attacks another city in your COA that has my reinforcements in it.

  • They get credited with every troop they kill (including my reinforcing troops)
  • The reinforcing troops (which contribute to the defence of that city) get ZERO CC points??????

I believe this needs to be looked at and fixed

Hello Grim. You have a valid point. I know that the developers take into their mind the game's balance when they design a feature or the game's mechanics, but it won't harm us to ask them to change it, so we will get the CC points for killing our opponent units with our defences no matter who we are protecting. Thank you for your post.

Grim, changes might take weeks as the developers have to change the game's mechanics and  I don't know if the developers want to do it. I have forwarded your request to the right channels but have no info yet. I will forward it one more time.

Hello, Grim _Reaper. Our Community manager informed us that your suggestion isn't rejected, and it is under consideration, and this is good news.😉

Hello Agesofman. I was waiting for a whole year to see one of my suggestions to be into the game as a new feature and only half of it.  Others of my suggestions were applied very quickly and others were rejected.  If we apply a suggestion it doesn't mean that we will see it as a new feature. Grimm's suggestion has been applied before by other players too.The fact that the developers didn't reject it, is a good thing but no one knows if eventually, they will change something.  We as players know what we need, but we don't know if it is technically possible for the devs to apply it to the game.
