Carthaginians, golden shields and sidonians used persian postitions ??

Do carthaginians, golden shields and sidonians fill the bank in persian positions the same way as regular units? Do they participate with their full resource value?

i have noticed that sending them alone or together,  returns  lower  %  (~ 18%)  comparing to regular units (28-30%)

I personally do not use units trained with denarii or champs. ..

These units have very LITTLE ( Legate, Evocatus etc...) or NO ( Champs) value resources, it is a waste.

--------> Units menitoned are  resourse (wood/broze/grain) units,. They are not denari or champions

Those units have a greater resource value, so yes, they can be used (successfully) against persians. Theoretically, they "fill up the bank" more quickly, but keep in mind that they require more resources to build and usually a bit longer queues. I'm sure there is a way to calculate the most efficient troops to use for persians. A few months ago, I made a rough guesstimate that it was the Sidonian Pikeman (when taking into consideration power, queue time and resources as variables), but I may be wrong about that. And of course there is the variable of how many scrolls you have used to decrease the build time of those units. Efficiency will no doubt vary slightly from person to person based on that variable.

diomed:

dont you think strangethat  the returned percentage is ~20% of sidonians, goldens and cartaginians. Compared to percentage of 30 from hoplites for example??? i think something may be wrong, and they dont participate with their full resourse value when filling the bank

Carthaginians, golden shields and sidonians fills the bank for me pretty well. That's the type of units that I build 24x7 for months now. It does the work since I am always full in grain they consume it pretty fast to get trained :)

Hi,

Those units are the best to fill the bank. you can calculate the efficiency for bank filling of your units just by making a ratio between ressources cost of the units and time to built (in secondes). higher the number is better is the units for persian position bank filling.

for example myrmidon cost in ressources is 2166, golden shield is 5300. you always produce 1 golden shield faster than 2 myrmidons .....

but at the same time it's not gold for player against player...... so you have to balance your production depending of your style of player.

If you want to do persian built those units for offense.

Same ratio ressources / time to built in sec could be applied for def units.

Manu

thanx for the answer and best regards

Good point, Prometheus. Most players have a grain surplus (not me, as I am currently running in grain negative); but with a grain surplus and plenty of farms that have high grain capacities, North African units (e.g., sidonian pikeman, golden shield warriors), which require more grain to produce, become excellent fodder to feed into the Persian monster.

ok , i have tested and results prove that carthaginians, golden shields and sidonians are excellent for persians.  I recommend players to build these units if they have excess of grain.
