DELETING CITY NAMES - RUINING THE GAME?

Plarium has started deleting city names and replacing them with General # XXXXXXX.  For those of us who have 100s of sieges and farms this is extremely disruptive.  I have learned the names of my sieges over a period of 2-3 years.  Now they all have the same name.

This change suxxx

Just warning you that you are messing with stuff that will cause long term players like me to quit.

the general is the city name and if he is in webgl he doesn't see the name of player, only the city name, something we have been complaining along this year.... not sure if they will bother repairing after this news? https://plarium.com/forum/en/sparta-war-of-empires/news-and-announcements/119983_important--sparta-war-of-empires-is-going-back-to-flash/?post=545596

This is a ruse to cause more disputes over sieges/farms, hopefully leading to more combat and loss of troops ie revenue for plarium. Very insidious of plarium but dont we know this already.

this was done to be compliant with GDPR, after a city has been inactive for a long time the name changes to reflect the fact it is a "dead" city, its a legality that Plarium HAVE to comply with

This explanation is bogus.  Plarium could simply add a suffix like (*) to the name indicating that it has been inactive for a long time so players still could identify their sieges by the original names.

There is no information protected by GDPR in the names of the cities/generals.  Deleting the personal data associated with the account owner doesn't mandate deletion of a fictional city name.

A city being sieged and raided 10 times a week is not really inactive.  It's an integral part of the game for the players who fight over it. Deleting the names of these cities is really disruptive.

Why some and not others in this case, now I have mixture of original name farms and some not, as far as my history goes in the game, there are some that have been converted generic and some not, of which are around the same time of inactivity. This is cheap trick as I said to create more conflict over farms, easily done and has been done to generate easy cash for plarium.
