Forge

I don't get it: you place charms etc.  in order to forge an item you need, like speed boots. You get a totaly random artefact. Why? Would be understandable to get speed boots with random substats.

I think Plarium expectations on our tolerance is really outageous 🙁

I have only tried forging a couple of items , sadly I find the same problem . the charms seem to have no bearing on the outcome since they just give us whatever Anyway. So frustrating.

It's not that the charms don't do anything, but rather that they only increase the chances of getting the result you want.

For example, by default all of the item types have a 16.67% chance of being crafted.  If you use a specific item charm such as boots, then boots will double and have a 33.33% chance of being crafted, while the rest will split the remaining odds and become 13.33% each.  This still means you have a 66.67% chance of not getting boots though.

In general I don't use charms much when I'm crafting.  I usually just craft a bunch and sell the ones that have no desirable stats.  Over time you build up a sufficient collection to draw on for new champs

There is no hex for speed boots in the forge. You can't influence the main stat, the hexes only affect type (boots) and substats.

Using the speed hex actually decreases your chance for speed boots, as artifacts can't have the same stat as main and sub, so boots with speed substat will never be speed boots. Don't use this hex on boots, only on other artifacts, where you want speed substats.

I want speed as a main stat on Boots. And if it doesn't do what I want, why bother with forge at all. You PAY for it, so why not give what I payed for?!

Just another line of pulling money

You can get really good gear from the forge, why wouldn't you use it?

And if you're paying for it you're doing something wrong!

The charms only increase your chances, and of course its all about maximum RNG :)

I only forge during cvc and usually forge 100+ items (might be close to 200 i dont keep track)

I usually keep 4 or 5 items out of that...

I find dragon more frustrating, ive used 6k energy this event and not got a single decent speed piece.

I have farmed dragon so much during this 2X event that I am in first place by a large margin, this never happens I can not remember the last time i placed much less 1st, and I maybe have a 20 items i have kept 😈

So you guys don't put charms in when you forge? Just let it go and what will be will be?

You do understand that you GAIN money from the Forge, right? The items you make cost silver, but the selling price of those items is always greater than the silver investment. So ... no, you don't PAY for it. You PROFIT from it.

I use the charms, ATM i have no boot charms left because speed is the biggest factor in this game so.......

IMO you get so many charms from everything I always use the first 2 slots as I have over 100 of each and then gear slot if I am looking for a certian piece.

Of course I use charms. I *always* use the rank and rarity charms, and I *only* craft the 5-6 star items.

But do I use the other charms? Not nearly as much. I will use the item slot charm if I'm hunting for something in specific, and I will use the substat charm to "bump" my chances to get a primary stat I want. IE if I'm looking for Speed boots, I'll use ATK%/DEF%/etc, to reduce the odds that I get those as the primary stat, thus increasing my odds of getting Speed.

I can't speak for the others, but I use the charms. That doesn't change the fact that there exist no main stat charms. If you want speed boots, you can influence the rank (increased chance for 6*), rarity (increased chance for legendary artifact) and type (increased chance for boots). You can not influence the main stat of your item.

You can influence the chance for a speed sub-stat, but why would you do that on boots? If they get a speed sub-stat, they can't have speed as main stat.

I guess I was using it wrong, then. Thought I was influencing the main stat.

Krama, I know about the profit from selling items, it's just that I didn't really use the forge as I didn't get the things I wanted. Will approach differently now.

Still, when I order something to be done, I expect it to be as close to my wishes as possible and that's bothering me with the forge bussines. Well, I'll try new approach, might be I'll make some money out of all the materials after all.

Thanks all for your help.

Just to be clear - I am *not* recommending you use the forge as a means to make money. You should use it as a means to get items you are short on - often, that means speed boots, but sometimes it means that resist chest you need for your go-second team, or that crit damage glove for spider, or w/e. All I meant from my comment was that you are not losing silver by using the forge (unless you're exceptionally lucky with what you get).

I think if we're doing Faction Wars, trying to get our silver keys out in Doom Tower etc. it can definitely be a source of both. Each CvC at this point is millions and millions of silver in profit because you get to a point where you just get incredibly picky with keeping anything.

Personally, I don't use substat/specific gear charms as much as I maybe should (except for missions), but without the Forge I don't know where my progress in stuff like hard doom tower, 1 key UNM, etc. would be. Perception is just insane, even with the RNG element.
