If I read this right, right now I have 1502 tag arena points and they put me up against 41827 points, my team power is 225 and this guy is 612.  What kind of matching scheme is that??

It doesn't match based on points at all. That guy is just doing nothing but playing Tag matches 247. Like all day every day. He's played the most matches in Bronze 1. Who even KNOWS how many tokens/gems or cash he's spent since reset?

I always wonder if these folks think they are going to hit some number where they move up midweek. You just need to be high enough score-wise for the yellow bar to be green. and still be green when reset happens, and you'll move up just the same as he will.

for what it's worth, since I assume you're referring to team #1 - I would honestly consider that an easy win. A standard speed nuke build will win easily against both their second and third team. The teams are just terribly built - team #2 is a blender with no AoE attack champs and a useless reviver, and team #3 is a blender with no speed booster to actually get the blender attack off.

tag arena is easy cvc points if you can get wins, so maybe he just spent a million tokens.

Seems like the simplest answer. 

Why don't you attack the third opponent instead, who has only one champion per team?

I appreciate the analysis but I was just noting the matching up arithmetic, did not even take a close look at the champs involved.

They say there is an algorithm, which I do not know what it is, just wondering why they put a level 93 guy in my batch of battles, I am L54.

I am looking now and that might be a challenge for me, 97k  power spread among three solo champs. That can be quite difficult depending on the champ.  Like a champ with 30k+ power is no small chore for me.  Even if you have 3 or 4 champs on a team they can get whacked one at a time. I often got locked in a draw with no winner, but I lose those.

I can usually beat a lone arbiter up to 50k power, but some are tougher.

I can handle about 175k total for three teams in a bunch, but no guarantees there either.

It doesnt match on levels at all in Tag. The algorithm for Tag arena seems to be something pretty simple: "Players who are in your Tag Arena Tier"

Just have to be willing to check back a couple times a day and hit the teams you can. :)
