If you could do your first two attempts with the same champions, that would indeed be a bug - in your favour.

It has nothing to do with the guardian ring, the message you got describes pretty clear that you can use champions only once per cycle in Hydra ("this champ has already fought the hydra this week"). To fight 3 times vs. Hydra, you need 18 champs.

Nope!  No point to it all.  You should just ignore it.  It's useless to you.  And trying to plan, improve, and think abouit it, is obviously not going to help you.

Hydra is supposed to be an extremely difficult end game challenge, if you can't at least 2key the demon lord on UNM I would not worry about hydra too much. 

this. just because a certain piece of content is open to you doesn't mean you can or sometimes even should be focusing on it. 

even if you do have the champs for hydra, to hit reasonable stat thresholds on the earlier difficulties will take a lot of good gear and moving it around, too. 

As mentioned this is content designed for people at least in the mid game... as a mid game player myself i can 1 key the first hydra boss but struggle to get a chest on the harder hydra.

I dont know what champs you have. Cleansers are really important, so if you have a doompriest for passive cleanses every turn for instance then she is a good idea.  Also veil has become really important so someone like rector is suddenly more valuable. Buffs can be a two edged sword, since they will be stolen, personally i dont worry about having continuous heals stolen but i try to avoid giving them block damage etc.

I am by no means good at hydra  - but im sure people can help give ideas if given a roster to work with. And hopefully i have given you some ideas anyway

It appears x2 is broken on hydra?

Given the fights take 120+ turns its quite annoying.

Is it? Can you get a video of that for me? And share what device you are playing on? Just so I can submit the bug report for you.

Certain champs are just god awful slow in hydra.  They meander their way up to the hydra, take a swipe at it, casually stroll back.... 15 seconds wasted lol.  That part is annoying at times for sure

Make  sure  your  2x  is  turned  on  In  that battle  mode  it  diesnt  carry  over  from  other  modes. I  just  opened  doom  tower  and  thought  my  phone  was  broke  they  move  so  slow  but  2x  wasnt  automatically  on  and  itd  been  a  while  since  i  had  to  turn  it  on  myself  in  a  new  area.

I think it is this.  They all move like dwarves.

Yes I have certainly noticed this; and fyi 2x is not only on, this would be slow on 1x.  Another thing I've notieced is that when I touch the screen near the bottom to pan from one side to the other, the active champ will attack whatever head is above my finger, even though I'm no where near the hydra, much closer to my own champs as a matter of fact.

I find the whole thing tedious, slow, a week before it resets, concept ok, execution very poor

The only good thing, IMO, is that we only need to do it 3x a week :)

Please tell me you don't want the reset more frequent.  I would rather they 2x the rewards and make it 2 weeks. lol

Get as many chests as you can every week, however the math works out for your capabilities. You want the Mithrala fragments. The more you collect every week, the better.

+1 I would even go for 4x rewards and run once a month

No one likes Hydra feedback is overwhelmingly negative rewards are very lacking no one's going to do it after they get mithrala prove me Wrong

I  understand  it  just  came  out.  But  my  god.  I really  want  to  like  hydra.  I  try  to  like  it.  Everyone  ive  talked  to  thinks  it  is  just  tedious, complicated,  boring  af.  And  for  what?  So  they  can  make  people  think  they  need  all  these  champs  and  buy  more  shards.  No  f2p  player outside  of  the  god  tier  min-maxers  will  ever  touch  hydra.  no  new  players ,  no  casual  players.  I  really  worry  about  their  'arena  oriented  2022' .  Im  not  impressed  with  hydra,  i  dont  have  much  faith  in  their  ability  to  not  make  any  new  pvp  system  they  come  out  with  also  not  be  for  any  casuals,  any  new  players,  any normal  person  in  general.  "Finally  got  RTA!  But  you  can  only  do  it  if  you  have  an  all  leggo  teame  with  all  leggo  gear  with  quad  rolls  and  must  have  been  re  rolled  with  new  BUYABLE  CHAOS  ORE!"  laaaaah  maooooo 

Very tedious, boring, no thought given (as usual) and when the Mischief head eats your champ - usually with me the first one to be gulped I just reset as the misdirects mean you ain't getting it back

I have no issue with rewards that champ looks good. And i dont mind content being 'hard' 

Doom tower hard has been my fave content for a while, beating it was great fun. A challenge is fine

The issue i have with hydra is  everything taking so long, my champs run like they are stuck in mud, auto can go horribly wrong easily due to no real AI. So for one key its almost 150 turns of slow moving champs on manual, no thanks.

The feedback in my own clan is not positive although the reasons are sometimes different (the randomness making planning impossible for example).

I run 1 key to get my top chest on normal but really have to be cajoled into doing my other keys

I am not sure how challenged I want to be 😀.

I agree it takes too much time, I just autoed my 3 keys and didnt even get enough for a chest this round 😍😭

I manualled hard, got 7.5 million (i dont have duchess or shamael so ran deacon, abbess, scyl, brogni, rector, royal guard)

But even though more keys might get me a better chest, i just have no desire to do the run again, it took forever- i just do not like this mode at all.

I am curious - is anyone actually enjoying this mode?
