I don't know who "we" are, but i'm not one of them ;) cause while i agree that the most rares can be used as food, i'm not one of those who use most of the epics for that purpose. There were few epics i used as food so far and watching my dropp luck so far, i guess it will stay like that. Even for the rares... we have some really good ones (Apo, Coldheart, Bellower etc) and some with a niche use (look at the new star - the Templar) and let's not forget those needed for the Rhazin fusion.

At the end of the day its up to you to decide if you need an epic or rare depending on your progress so far ( done with faction wars? done with doom tower nm and hm? done with dungeons up to lvl 25? - if you have teams who can handle all these, i guess you can use even legos as food if you whish). 

As i said, i for example am not that far so im glad i pulled Vergis yesterday after reading that he can solo Bommal. I'm just leveling him and trying to get the gear for him.
