Our clan leader has been gone for 5 days and his accounts were the only one with leadership positions. How do we go about replacing him without starting a new clan?

Why wouldn't it change to an existing Deputy, as they are already in a leadership position? Our alliance went to someone that never chats, so we can't even get them to switch it back or anything.
