Scarab king - easy - tea?

EDIT: Typo - tea = team!

So I've reached floor 30 in Doom Tower on easy mode, but Borgoth is blocking my way and it appears I need a specialist to put my team on constant shields to have any chance of beating this level.

My thinking is the following team:

- Metalshaper (50)

- Noct (60) - poisons + heal

- Frozen Banshee (60) - poison

- Tayrel (60) - turn meter/waves

- Ronda (60) - waves

However, my Metalshaper is currently sitting at 3* (0) so will need to evolve him- and obviously making him 5* means one less 5* food for evolving main champs.

So the question is, is it likely worth it?

For starters, does my team initially appear viable? Secondly, is it really woth 5* Metalshaper at this point? I figure progression is important and DT rewards are likely useful for my account - but better making food instead??

Poison is not the easiest strategy for this fight. I'm not sure it will work at all. Poison does only damage when the poisoned opponent gets a turn, but you want to prevent that by any means. If he gets a turn, his attack will destroy the shield Metal Shaper provides. That will lead to your champs attacking him without shield, counterattack from him that provokes, repeat until your team is dead.

Metalshaper as fastest champ + 1 damage dealer who can destroy enemy max hp (if you don't have any, a destroy set does the same) + 3 turnmeter reducing champs.

P.S.

Or just any five champs in bloodshield artifacts.

Poison 100% works - I used it on my floor 110 for DTH hard for a while. The damage is reduced, yes, but otherwise it still works just fine.

OP - Metalshaper works great, yes, but you need to keep the boss from getting a turn, or else the strategy simply fails. You'll want people like Visix, Armiger, Alure, etc, depending on affinity.

Many thanks for the replies - sounds like I'm still missing champions to beat scarab for the moment.

One way to get around the pesky need for champs who can apply shields to their allies is to use the special rings that your clan will sometimes win from CvC... there's several types of the special rings but one gives its wearer shield equal to like 5% of the damage they do on their attacks.

The shield it places will most often be so negligible that there were times I couldn't even see the sliver early on, BUT... it still COUNTS, and it still blocks scarab from doing his thing. I've run teams against him with each champ wearing that ring and it works beautifully.

Apologies, I didn't see your PS at the bottom of your original reply. :)

I don't have bloodshield rings for the right factions for it to work, though, so again it looks like I'll have to leave scarab king for a later date and focus elsewhere.
