You can be booted only by the appropriate members of your Brotherhood.
The reported case cannot be classified as a bug since this is a part of the regular gameplay. I have moved your topic to Game Discussion thread.

another possibility is the cheater that booted you is able to access your leaders acct or some other advisors acct. and that's how you got booted. I've seen this done by someone we booted and was good friends with the leader and pulled that same thing to several players.
