I think that you should be able to earn gearhub stars by completing achievements for the mechs in the tier. (That way you would have to use the mech instead of just buying junk and wasting resources) 

Also, Acoins should not be used for everything. Separate buying and upgrading mechs from opening crates and removing implants etc...

You should also be able to try mechs and weapons(like brawl stars) you dont have.

These are just some things that I think would make the game more fun. Besides the lack of acoins and the unfair matchmaking, I would totally play this game again if I some new feature that were accessible without paying.
