Matchmaking is horrible, It spoils all the fun and the desire to play....

Matching opponents to the game is fatal. If I have a whole hangar of mechs from tier 2 with weapons also from tier 2 and my opponent has a mech from tier 4 with weapons from tier 5 then the game loses its meaning and is not fun anymore :(. If you have already introduced these tiers in the last update then at least opponent matching could take them into account.... E.g. If someone puts on even one mech with a weapon from a tier of e.g. fifth then it should be matched with opponents in that tier and there would be no problem of scammers lowering the level of the whole hangar. One thing from a higher level and it is matched with opponents from that level and that's the problem.

Hello! Thank you for your feedback, we are actively working on the improvements for the Matchmaking system!

Again, no, you're not! You've been saying that for months and the CM before you said the exact same thing!!! There's been ZERO improvement for well over a year! Everybody in this forum and pretty much everyone elsewhere knows your statement that you're 'actively working on the improvements' is a complete lie! It gets worse with every update, including the broken gearhub system...

Amen brother!  The ONLY goal is getting our money, NOT fixing the issues.  If they cared, they would have fixed SOMETHING by now.

Hello! I understand why you have such an opinion, and of course, you have a full right to think in that way, but still, currently, you are misinforming other members of the forum as you just can't know what exactly has been done inside our team.

In my turn, I don't aim to misinform you and vice versa, you can ensure yourself that I always bring insights to you from the devs. In this way, when I say "the work is in progress," it literally means that it's being in progress. I can't say more, but some of the changes will be visible soon.

Your feedback is heard and considered. Believe me, I do everything from my side to make you guys are heard by the team. Please, stop arguing with me under every single comment 'cause I can estimate it as a violation of the forum rules.

I have only seen worsening and combinations beyond belief. if there are game developers, who can't level this problem, then they need to change jobs....

this should make you understand that the players want to play M.A., but it is very clear that a lot needs to be done because if the players are always complaining something is wrong and you know it well. instead of continuing to hunt for new mechs and weapons...fixed the basics of the game. otherwise yours is just greed and time passes. It's the forum and it's full of complaints and swear words....

Please knock off the weak threats against a player. He was in no way violating the rules of the forum. His opinion was that nothing has been effectively DONE about the comments. To say that he is misinforming anyone on the forum is ridiculous and a stretch.

Don't abuse the little "power" you have, mate. The problem is that your definition of "soon" is literally MONTHS. You have been saying the fixes will be implemented for many months. Even if the changes are implemented as soon as next week, the fact is that the results are not acceptable in the eyes of those who pay to play this game. The game doesn't belong to the players, so the devs can take however long they want or need to fix issues. The money that people pay belongs to them, so if you want to see who really holds the cards, then I would say that you can continue to warn players that they are violating rules when they are literally just sharing their opinion.  At some point you might also want to consider that perhaps so many players argue with you because they are right and you are not.

Recently another very strong player and huge advocate for the game, Gangsta Jabs, has quit making content. This is tied directly to the game being less enjoyable than it used to be. It should tell you something that your most die-hard and dedicated fans (myself amongst them) are jumping ship. Wake up, man.

Hello! Let's see the official rules of the forum :

  • "1.2. While free debate and discussion are encouraged, we will not tolerate posts using inappropriate/offensive language or content. Below are guidelines to help determine whether or not certain language is appropriate. There may be inappropriate language that does not fit into any of these categories. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case-by-case basis."
  • "1.3. We also ask that you treat the Plarium Support Team with respect. Our staff work tirelessly to make your community experience on the official Forums as enjoyable as possible [...]"

I guess I shouldn't continue as it's already enough. Misinforming is commenting on all my messages with the same aggressive text, whatever topic it is. I have answered the user multiple times, but they don't stop spamming, so I can consider it a violation. Of course, I'm not against sharing one's opinion and the forum, and moreover, it's useful as I share the majority of such messages with the devs, but in this case, sharing the opinion turned into hate.

"Weak threats against a player" and "little "power" sounds hilarious in these terms, as there is no need for me to assert myself here. Didn't even have a thought about it.

"Soon" is literally MONTHS" - okay, let it be. Using the term "soon" was meant to make you guys cheer up; didn't know it would cause so much frustration. Besides, I'm known as Soon-Man on the Discord server, you know? But yes, it's pretty subjective speaking about the periods.

"So many players argue with you because they are right and you are not." - I'm not denying it, they are indeed right from their point of view. I totally understand why users talk in the way they do it, and many of my responses include statement "I understand your feelings" and so forth. But when I'm sharing my opinion in return, highlighting that it's based on some insight information from inside the development team, saying, "Hey guys, I'm a person who connects you with the devs, here are some updates on your issues," I receive messages like yours. Isn't it a little bit illogical?

Yeah, I know that Jabs went on hiatus. Of course, it's a pity to see, as he's indeed a talented player and Content Creator. The same can be stated about other players leaving the game. All I can say is that I hope that with some time, Mech Arena will become more attractive for you guys (the plans of development are colossal), and from my side, I will do everything to deliver your thoughts to the devs.

The upcoming PvE or mission-based boss fights (whatever it may be) are without a doubt exciting. That is actual new content and I can only imagine how much work it must take. I think most gaming enthusiasts and mech arena fans anticipate such changes and we do not fault the devs for focusing on these.

HOWEVER,

There have been numerous "updates" that have actually broken the existing game and made it worse (stronger bots, worse matchmaking, removal of ways to gain a-coins, nerf to EM rifle after many were sold at full price, nerf to previously good mechs like tengu). This long list of changes reflects actual time and effort that was expended by the team and all have been universally hated by the vast majority of the players. Why not expend those energies on things to FIX (not "balance" i.e. BREAK) what is already working? It was mentioned in the recent Dev VLOG that there are obvious limitations in the most precious commodity - time- with respect to Eclipse model. That being said, they did release an amazing new mech that is super useful, fun, and popular.

From other threads in our convos, I can tell that some of the plans your team has in motion (such as enhancing BOT AI) are going to be more of the same.  The takeaway here is that only a few players will complain/quit when you add new content that they do not like. However, when things are TAKEN away/reduced in strength, or removed entirely, these are always going to be met with strong criticism from the community. From my persepctive, I have no idea what benefit there is in removing options for players, whether it is ways to earn credits/acoins or even moving around implants. These are the things that keep players interested/engaged and spending. Overall, a healthier game is one where there is more flexibility and customization.

To the Origial Posters point, a change in the matchmaking algorithm that puts limits on the SP differential cannot possibly be THAT hard to code (no harder than creating a whole new mech). That would be a much more welcomed update than a new mech or weapon in the near future.

As for the future of the game. I still have a small hope, which is why I still log in my children's accounts each day and collect some rewards. The current trajectories are really bad but sadly they are super easy to correct. The fact that ya'll are most capable of instituting the implant discount (which we were told for months and months was not technically possible/realistic) and have taken it away has ruined the companies credibility tremendously.

The fact that the devs and CrystalDrew actually play the game is what gives me some small hope. As players, they should be able to understand somewhat the frustration players experience when the game is less good.

Do they enjoy fighting pinked out bots/mechs when they are only 6k SP? It's not fun fighting mechs that are literlly 1.5-2x multiplier of your strength. This makes it so that in many matches you can actually play better than your opponent and still lose (which is quite a common occurence). I somehow doubt that the devs experience the full scale of nonsense that the players do. It's hard to imagine that they wouldn't fix it immediately if they did.

On a side note, I am of the extra stubborn variety of gamers. I don't give up so easily but I'm also not going to continue chasing something that is failing to improve. IF I truly felt there was no hope at all, then there wouldn't even be a point of posting on the forums. Still... I see that Scape211 hasn't logged in the game on his account for over a week, too. The devs are losing some of their best and brightest.  It really isn't too late if they heed the voice of players. I see a new post in the forums from another pilot saying he's constantly fighting players with higher SP than himself.  This is not an outlier and happens all too often.

leave the rules alone, because if your developers, palrium and yourself respect your PAYING PLAYERS, they will have respect and esteem for you. Since this doesn't happen and you cheat your players, they are perfectly right, and as you say TO ESTIMATE THE THEIR THOUGHTS,,, but if you threaten then you are not THE RIGHT PERSON TO DO YOUR JOB. ,,. Nothing of what you said has come true to date. or players have the full right to speak, and if they speak colorfully or with forbidden terms, well then you brought them to that point, with the terrible gaming system, terrible pairing of opponents, hacker bots that ruin the gaming experience, not to mention the smart guys in the lower hangar, so it's legitimate for the player to be pissed off, given that he also spends real money,,,, and it's 100% justified, being scammed pisses you off guy....

The rules are the rules that we all need to follow to keep a healthy and productive conversation. If I see more breaking the rules, I will need to take measures

We shouldn't get angry at CrystalDrew, he only passes on the feedback.

Also about the EM Rifle, it being nerfed is good in my opinion, it was before a one-shot sniper with aim-assist, which is broken, now you atleast need to aim the weapon using your skills (it can still one-shot), in my opinion, if they nerf something they should give the players that have the mech/weapon some Acoins.

The Matchmaking is getting worse every day. I am finding that I always fight players with 130% to 250% of my SP. I understand that I have  6 star weapons....but they are 6 energy weapons. My best mech has 800 SP and I frequently fight players with maxed out surges/bastions.  The game is completly unfair. If this were randomly happening every so many matches that wouldn't be so bad but it is literally EVERY match I play.

Since a few weeks I have the same problem as User "Baby Divine".

I love this game and have spent quite a few hours playing it over the past year. I've always had stronger opponents and that's ok as long as it's proportionate. I have (or had I must say now) over 6500 games with a 93% win rate, meaning I know the game mechanics (mechs, weapons and maps).

But the way it's been going for a few weeks now, it's just not fun for me. I lose now sometimes 3-4 games in a row and without a chance! My weapons simply don't do enough damage to the enemies, because their mechs are 3-4 stars/ranks above mine, while the opponents partly only need one shot. Due to the star/rank difference of the mechs, they also have correspondingly stronger weapons.

I have a squad power of 4022 and regularly get opponents between 5500 and 6600. In the last match there was even one with 6800+.

But not only that the players are disproportionately strong, their bots in the team also play unrealistically. Javelins are shot down within a second or even faster, while I need 2-3 seconds between visual contact and when they finally take aim. Not to mention EM Rifles being shot directly by the bots without delay, Helix Racks flying impossible angles and many more problems.

i

My conclusion: I'll take a look at this and the beginning of next season. If nothing changes, I will pause it for now and dedicate myself to another game.

Bots with EM Rifle do have a delay i think, but when they arent facing you and you attack them they turn towards you while already firing, but because of the delay, when the are facing you, they also instantly hit you. But yeah, bots do alot of things that are concidered cheating, i have seen bots teleport and fly in float in mid-air.

Thank you for sharing your similar experience. Everything you described is exactly what happens to me. At 90%+ win rate, the opponent BOTs scale up in performance and become way more aggressive than mine. It is not uncommon for me to have opponent BOTs (not real players) with 8-9 kills each and my team of 4 BOTs collectively gets 3-5 kills with minimal captures. Again, this doesn't happen randomly (sometimes my BOTs are strong, sometimes the opponents BOTs are strong). In recent weeks, my BOTs are almost always underperforming.
