Maybe he didn't upgraded the Dominion ... that influence on the time for collect in hamlets, 

- with dominion not upgraded the resources of a hamlet can be ready  in about 10 days

Another thing which influence the time for collect in hamlets is in Hero abilities at lvl 20 , and the House of Lords .

So, there is nothing wrong or strange if he has that hamlet by 3 days ...

Here is an esample from a castle with those things not upgraded , so a sapphire hamlet is ready in more than 10 days :

Or the  player is paying attention and retaking his hamlet after it fills  up and he or she  collects

he wasn't active 3 days ... this mean he hasn't all those stuffs upgraded for accelerate the collect time
