When is the announced competition "Fight for Runic Coins", which should take place on January 7th and 8th? I haven't seen anything so far or have I already missed it?
I would have expected it to show up at least in the "Soon to be active" events section.
It's at Jot and it is listed in my events.

From what you wrote, you were expecting the event,but didn't catch it.
I saw it in the list of current events, and then some time later, before I read your post, had seen the clock counting down to an event finishing, it was this one.
Some events have a short run time, and appear and disappear quite quickly,so like the special invaders ,blink and you will likely miss them,unless your are lucky, or reloading the game frequently,they are not even mentioned in the completed events either,so can't check there about them.
Other similar events do not seem to give much away if anything at the lower levels ,so maybe you didn't miss out on too much.

How do I access the Seasonal Store?
Open the events page, at the top you will see the season box, there is a
hidden or at least obscured arrow above the coins at the top right.
Click
on Events (F). In the Competition Tab you see the Season Banner. Click
on it. Then switch to the Tab "Seasonal Store". That's it 🙂
