What you ask would suggest you are so awash with gems that  you have the luxury  of choice.

There are several articles on the forum on this topic, some of which may be out of date, as there is also some suggestion that the parameters of their relative effectiveness has been changed.

Have you consulted with your clan members on best use?

Often the choice is arbitary, just personal preference,or belief.

Spinel, Opal, Rhodonite , Valor ,  Ruby,  Tourmaline, Taffelite , Courage, etc. Those are some I am wearing on my Ubba set now. 

Celestial gems work great on Ubba sets, especially for SH sieges.
