Running the game on Linux after Flash dies

I finally got two Chromes running on my Linux, with one being local (and it'll never be upgraded) and the other being a normal, packaged, system-wide one, that is to be updated as new versions are released.

For those interested in how to do it, I've put it here (be cause this new forum's formatting is quite lousy, and also because this link can be distributed for other Flash games to use).

The document is set to never expire and it is owned by my Pastebin account, which means that I can update it as needed.

Thanks Crowbar. This is very useful for those who are not comfortable usnisng the Plarium App yet. I have also been working  on some work arounds although I am more than happy using the Plarium App.

Thank you Crowbar for that tutorial, there may be an additional route to go with. I found a link for downloading an earlier version of chrome and im looking at that as a solution, im not really sure if its the right way to go but I do think its worth a try at the least.

That is basically what I do. However, if you use Chrome for anything other than Flash games, you'll want to keep it up-to-date with the latest version. My solution allows you to have (and run!) two Chromes next to each other, one for Flash (never updated) and one for everything else (updated as needed).

I'll have to give that a shot if the other method doesnt work for me, I typically run upwards of 5 browsers on my personal system with each having a specific use.

Browsers or profiles of one browser? If the latter, it cannot help with the "don't update" approach.

I run a bunch of profiles, but only two browsers (on occasion a third one).

One solution.  plarium stop doing anything that requires flash player.  I can live without seeing skeletons get up out of graves or cannons firing off

Animations can easily be done with just HTML5. Most of the modern web pages have stuff jumping and dancing. But that solution, if I understand it right, isn't available yet.

Looks like no solutions for Linux players for the abandoning of flash in 2020

I was recently made aware that Flash itself has a kill switch and will die on the 12th January. That means that even "do not update your browser" approach won't work.

I added an attempt of a workaround to my Linux tutorial above. We'll know on the 12th if it works...

It depends on if you have received the newest update on flash if you have the kill switch embedded in it. Wont know for sure till the 12th obviously.

Like I said, I added a workaround for that. Obviously, the question remains if the workaround will work or not.

I might try with an older Chrome if this fails. Do we know which version is the last without the kill switch?

I believe it was the update in November 2020 that was free of the kill switch, When I looked into it there was a lot of reference to decembers flash update that had the rumored kill switch embedded within.

I noticed (the game loaded before they switched it off works fine; I just must avoid reloading 😂). I am trying to get them to revert this ridiculous change, but I must say that I am not too hopeful.

Ive lost faith in plariums ability to understand just how many folks are now locked out of the game, to block so many people that use this game as a means for social interaction is beyond my compehension.

Many of these folks are in fact seniors and/or disabled and were naturaly shut ins at home to some degree and this is before covid, to simply shut them out of the game site is inexcusable.
