👑It has not been long since the inaugural Battle for the Throne ended. It's time to ask our winner a few questions: what tactics did he use, who helped him, and which reward did he like the most?

👇Read more in the interview with Monster Rat – the first King of Jotunheim.

V — Vikings: War of Clans

M — Monster Rat

V.: Hello, Monster Rat. Congratulations on your victory! Tell us about yourself. Where are you from and how long have you been playing Vikings: War of Clans?

M.: Hello. Thank you. It was a hard battle. I’m from the heart of Europe, have two kids, and have been playing Vikings for a year, I guess.

V.: Tell us what you thought of the new Battle for the Throne Competition. What did you like most and least about it?

M.: It is an impressive event with a lot of challenges. The thing I liked most: we managed to win the event. The least: all the issues a new event brings with it. I hope the next Throne event will work with less maintenance.

V.: Were you willing to do anything to capture the Throne, or did you just want to test yourself in the new Competition, and winning was a pleasant surprise?

M.: We were very motivated to take part in it – winning is always a welcome option, but taking part was more important.

V.: Did you plan your tactics beforehand or did you improvise?

M.: When we found out that we could use the PoP (Place of Power) tactics, we implemented them in our strategy. We allied with other Clans from other Kingdoms.

V.: What is the right way to capture the Throne of Jotunheim?

M.: Can you tell us? 😉

V.: Roughly how many troops did you lose while capturing and holding the Throne?

M.: That's hard to say. I'm still counting – Valhalla needed many more tables on those days; millions didn’t return from the battles.

V.: How important was your clansmen's contribution to the victory? Do you form Onslaughts with them often?

M.: Without teamwork it's impossible. We’ve sent some OS in coordination with our allies, R3gulators K328, Facéless K299, RASTAS FOR LOVE K104, and Slaissrij's Wrath K269 (Thank you guys!).

V.: Which of the rewards you received did you like the most?

M.: The Town Skin – I like it a lot, as well as the bonus of the Hero's skin.

V.: Have you already assigned Titles to Kingdoms? If yes, how did you choose?

M.: The reputes were granted to our allies and some random Kingdoms.

V.: Are you going to participate in the next Battle for the Throne?

M.: We will participate!

P.S. Many players wrote and congratulated me. Thank you, Jarls!

As messages in the mailbox are limited, I probably didn’t see all of them and couldn’t answer everybody.

V.: Thank you for your answers! We wish you interesting battles and new victories!

Jarls, is it possible to capture the Throne of Jotunheim without support from your Clan and allies, in your opinion?

Hi,

no you can not get the thron without your clan better say without many clans!

This event is only for the big players and big clans.

When I read that he loose millions of troops it is a joke.

The cost for the jump is too high.

That the event is during an other is bad and should not be. (points for building troops are count in kvk)

For normal players it is nothing.

It is only a money making from you Plarium sorry. (or change your offer system and make the offers much much better)

The only think where the trolls and monsters but I not see any.

One question Monster Rat, how many money you spend in this event or in the game?

I see you have over 144 billion influence in only 8 weeks play time. That must cost many money or you had get offers like i never get.

I disagree with your lower-level-players-can't-do-anything-in-Jotenheim attitude. I passed all 10 checkpoints in the first battle for our clan by myself just sitting off to the side and hitting players without a shield that were around my town level.

You can also watch The Throne for lower level players to "pop" in and hit them real fast  before the 31s hit them.

In any case there is ALWAYS something that any level can do over there in Jotenheim. There is always something you can do to make points for your clan. You just have to have a passion for moving forward and having a good attitude.

Don't listen to people who tell you that you can't do something. You CAN do things associated with your town level.

And I am not entirely in agreement with you either. I am a low-level (only 6B influence, Level 31) - yes, to some I am a high level, but I found nothing at all worth my time in any of the throne events as I was sorely outclassed by the truly higher level players. I mean, seriously, ^b is nothing when there are players over 100 billion and plenty of troops to throw around.

I am a very fast shielding person but even I was discouraged every time I went over there to see what could be done. I never saw any of the trolls, etc... Very few people that I interact with in the game regularly are even bothering to look as the benefit/cost ratio is out of our league...

Dear ALEX4524NRW,

we are very pleased to hear that you like our interview with Monster Rat – the first King of Jotunheim!

vikings.....your offerts is too low,

We assure you that the pricing policy in the game is constantly analyzed by our specialists. The variety of bank offers depends on player's in-game activity. There is no need to worry, for you can soon find a special bank offer that you'll certainly like. Have a nice day!

The offers that I want as a low influence player is  Heros double 7days,  Energy for Hero and Shaman, March speed, relocation, and only $5.   Also to get anything out of the comps you have to score too many points. Make it easy for us to get gold and time boosts. I just end up running out of everything and have spent my pocket money so the game is stale.

Its amazing how the posts get further and further disconnected from the lead post.

Dont know about any age limit for the game, buts kids are normally pretty smart at dodging them.

You sound young, and probably are if you are mentioning pocket money, and am not sure of the widsom of spending it here.

What you are describing applies to almost everyone that plays the game, and say," the checkpoints are hard to reach,my resources get spent and its then boring".
