Are strongholds a private property?

Plarium does not care about justice. Plarium cares about money-making.

Still, the status of the strongholds built with time, ressources and actual money by a large gathering of members raises a problem of justice.

What happens when a so-called chief leaves the game without a warning, letting his whole teammates down? What happens when the chief is just a dictator, and throws all his clanmates out when they just try to resist to his will?

What happens when two clans merge, but the clan that joins the other stronghold tries to keep its former SH under the control of a farm... and the owner of that farm leaves the game?

We all know the answer: the clanmates are all abused. They've lost what they've built and paid for. In Plarium's world, this is called a rule. In real life, this is called abuse, exploitation and theft.

Even in the Middle-Age, when a lord tended to be abusive, the ordinary subjects could revolt against him and often, in such cases, the lord didn't survive.

Plarium should definitely find a less violent way to settle disputes. That solution would be to authorize any member of a clan to organize a referendum about their chief. If a clear majority wants the chief to be removed, then he's replaced by the member of their choice. If the majority supports the chief, then referendums can't be organized once again for a while.

Plarium loves money. So it should really think about that - trials are expansive...

trials are not expensive, lawers are...

well, it don't happen anymore... look at North Korea... now that the supreme leader don't need to worry anymore from USA since he is "friend" with USA, he can crush a little more his own population... at least, in viking, you are free to leave a clan and seek happiness elsewhere

It would be nice if a chief that has not been active for say a month could be replaced.  But overthrown ... no ... it is usually the chief that spent the gold to start the clan and also did most the work to build the clan.  A group of people who did not even actually help build the sh could then come in and overthrow a clan and take it's sh ... that would not be good.  If you do not like it in the one clan than go to another clan or start your own.

Also our clan makes sure more than one person can access the chief account BECAUSE we are aware that accidents can happen and we do want the clan to be able to continue on if something should happen to the person in control of the chief account.  Of course this could cause problems also if there wasn't a good/trusting relationship between the chief and at least one other member.  I really would like for plarium to make it so if a clan chief has not been active for more than a month that a vote could be made of elders to promote one to chief, or that the elder that had been in the clan the longest could become chief.

In most cases it is not an accident (although that happens) ... in most cases it is that the person just stops playing and that is not very nice of them not to replace themselves as chief with someone else before they stop playing.  But people are also responsible to a certain extent to check out the clan/chief they are joining.  I was very particular about what clan I joined and I very much checked it out and the chief out before I joined the clan.

No, it wouldn't be right for clan members to gang up on the chief to get rid of the incumbant, especially if  no wrong has been committed, nor for the chiefs to take advantage of the members, but this  happens.

Though its more problematic if the chief just ups and quits, especially if there is Stronghold as well, its just as bad if a player ups and leaves and  wastes all the loyalty points built up.

A Stronghold does not cease to function when a Chief is inactive.  It continues to generate a Valley, continues to confer its benefits within the Valley, special equipment researched can still be crafted and the Stronghold can continue to be developed, Elders have access to direct conversions/upgrades etc and all the clan members are able to provide the stronghold with rss.

As for inactive or unpopular Chiefs, questions as to who has provided what or spent what do not seem to me of much interest.  What would make the game more fun or more interesting is the question.  I like the idea of an uprising or Palace Revolution.  I can imagine all sorts of plotting and counter plotting, of sudden wholesale expulsions and quick, efficient stabs in the back.  And filling the power vacuum created when a Chief left the game might be a whole lot of fun.

I won't hold my breathe though.  A few more clones are much more likely than any effort to improve gameplay in any existing game.

A rather fanciful idea.

Why not test it out for us to see how it works?.

Start  a revolution in your own clan, in your own kingdom, and keep us posted on events.

It will be dishonest in relation to the chief who has worked so much over the improvement of the clan, to give it to other people

in a lot of well developped stronghold, it is a dummy account who take the chief position... real chief is one of the elders...

when good setup, any of the few elders can access the dummy account for by example transfert rss prize from cvc to bank or stronghold... function of the dummy account is only to occupe the position of chief and do nothing... certainly not produce silver, so no tax is pax to the owner of the pop...

in our kingdom, we have a stronghold without elder and just a dead dummy as chief... it is not a problem because these stronghold was build long ago by big guys from several of our top clan... all stronghold armor was research and membership is open... now, it is a stop and go for anybody who want to craft a stronghold armor piece that own stronghold have not yet research...
