Shield cooldown

My suggestion for improvement is to add a "cooldown" timer when a shield (Peace Treaty) is lost due to attacking another player's town or a resource tile that another player is farming (tile hit), such that if an attack is made, the attacking player cannot reapply the shield (Peace Treaty) for 15 minutes.

I must say that I can't see how this would improve the game as it discourages people from attacking which is one of the main elements of the game.

Also, it is easy to find ways to work around it.

For tiles, some clans have already developed specialised tile hitting towns which don't shield for long periods.

For towns, It is possible to set up a system of attack towns, safe houses and traps.

Naturally this would be easier for older, stronger clans or experienced players in new kingdoms so it would make the game more difficult for new players in my opinion.

Please let me know if you think I've missed the point here as I have been known to be wrong.

Maybe not a 15 mins cool down, maybe something like a 1 min  cool down.  Something that evens the playing field a bit. Bigger players won't be so eager to attack players with half their influence. It will also give your clan or friends a chance to step in and help if you're getting hit. Instead of trying to time an attack with the next shield drop

I don't think that it would have the effect that you think it would.

Having to stay unshielded for a minute would be easy. Either I attack from a distance, boost my troops to your town/tiles and then shield before they get back or I relocate next to you, boost in and out then relocate. In either case, unless you are sitting there prepared to launch an immediate attack you would have little chance of responding in less than 3 minutes I would say. Also if most of my influence is military and most of yours is farming, you would most likely lose again.

Any imposed shield timeout would only act against inexperienced players in new kingdoms.

As for your clan coming to your aid, unless it is a prearranged plan or they are a bunch of newbies they will more likely be asking why your shield was down or why you broke the clan rule by sending too many troops to tiles or why you've been hoarding all those rss and not sharing. And yes I have seen that last question asked.

A 2 min cool down is a great idea.  Just enough time to load an OS and gut a town ;-)
