A new Competition: the Battle for Asgard
The Battle for Asgard is a legendary Competition for Clans. You will have to capture Asgard Towers one by one in sequence in order to make your way to the central Fortress. Your Clan will earn points by holding these Towers.
- The Outlands are a territory that surrounds the Floating Isles. When you relocate to Asgard, your Town is placed in the Outlands.
- The Floating Isles are the territory within Asgard where the main action takes place.
- Asgard Towers are Fortresses on the Floating Isles that you have to capture. They are guarded by neutral troops called Asgard Sentinels.
- A Tower territory consists of tiles near an Asgard Tower where Towns can be placed. The number of such places is limited.
- Neighboring Towers are Asgard Towers that are connected to each other directly by a bridge or gateway.
You can participate if your Clan was created no later than 24 hours before the Competition was announced. If your Clan is new, you can switch to another Clan or wait for the next Battle for Asgard.
The Competition is held in Asgard, and the corresponding icon appears on the Kingdoms Map during the active phase of the Competition.
Players can relocate to Asgard only if they meet the following requirements:
- Their Clan must be participating in the Battle for Asgard
- Their Palace must be level 34 or higher
To relocate your Town to Asgard, use the Guide to Asgard item, and to return to your home Kingdom, use the Guide to Midgard item. You can get them for free in the Competition window or purchase them in the Item Store or Clan Store.
When you relocate your Town to Asgard, you can place it only in the Outlands. Your Peace Shield, Town Skin, or Repute remain active, and your Town's Echo is left in place of your Town in your home Kingdom.
When you relocate your Town to the territory of an Asgard Tower, another Town's Echo remains in the Outlands, and this Echo is the only place you can occupy if you want to return there. Note that the Town's Echo you left in your home Kingdom doesn't disappear.
To relocate your Town within the territory of Asgard, use the Relocation item. You can move around in the Outlands, attack other players' Towns, or send reinforcements and resources without any restrictions.
On the Isles, your Town can only be located on the territory of a Tower that is being held by your Clan or an ally.
These Towers are located only on the Floating Isles. They are connected to the Outlands by bridges and to each other by bridges or gateways. It is only possible to attack a Tower from a neighboring territory, so a bridge or gateway is the only way to reach whichever Tower you need.
For example, if your troops have to cross the territory of another Asgard Tower in order to attack the Tower that is your target, the attack will not be possible.
You can't attack a Tower if:
- It isn't connected to the Outlands by a bridge
- It isn't connected to your Tower by a bridge or gateway
Each Tower is guarded by Asgard Sentinels, and a Tower is considered captured only once you have eliminated them. The closer to the Heart of Asgard a Tower is located, the more Sentinels it contains, and the more points you will earn by holding the Tower.
A Clan can only hold a maximum of four Asgard Towers at a time. If you withdraw all your troops from a Tower, the empty Tower will still belong to your Clan. You'll lose control over the Tower only if it is recaptured by another Clan.
While holding four Towers, you can continue attacking other Asgard Towers and eliminating troops that are defending them. However, these other Towers won't fall under your control, and you won't earn points for holding them.
A Tower that has been captured by your own Clan's or your allied Clan's troops is considered a friendly one. You can station reinforcements there, and your Clan members and allies can relocate their Towns to the territory surrounding it.
You can send reinforcements to a Tower from the Tower's own territory or from the territory of a neighboring Tower if the latter is controlled by your Clan or allies and is connected by a bridge or gateway to the Tower being defended.
You can relocate Towns to the territory of a friendly Tower from any location within Asgard. However, if a friendly Tower is captured by an opponent, the Towns on its territory will be returned to their Echoes in the Outlands.
Onslaughts are the most effective way to capture an Asgard Tower.
All Onslaughts on the Floating Isles are local, i.e. all the participants in the Onslaught must be on the territory of the same Tower as the initiator of the Onslaught.
You can send troops from any location within the Outlands to conduct an Onslaught on a Tower that is connected to the Outlands by a bridge.
If an Onslaught has been initiated by you or one of your clanmates, and you manage to capture the Tower, your Clan will earn points for every second the Tower is held. If you've sent reinforcements on an Onslaught that was initiated by an allied Clan, and the Tower falls under the control of your allies, your Clan won't get points for this Tower.
Points are scored for each second a Tower is held.
Asgard Towers differ in terms of their level, which determines the number of Sentinels in the Tower, the number of points scored for holding it, and its capacity to accommodate players' reinforcements. These levels are indicated by the letters A, B, C, D, and E.
Level A is assigned to the "weakest" Towers, which are nearest the Outlands and which bring the least points.
Level E is assigned to the central Tower, which has the highest defense and grants the most points when held.
Towns in the Heart of Asgard can be attacked, as Shields are not active in the territory of Towers of level D or E. If an attack is successful, the defeated Town will be returned to its Echo in the Outlands.
Capture Asgard Towers one by one and make your way from the edges to the center. The more points you earn by holding Towers, the higher your chance to climb the Competition ranking.
By reaching checkpoints and taking the top places in the Competition ranking, Clans receive Medals of the Aesir. Clan Chiefs can spend these Medals in the Asgard Store to purchase items, equipment, and Town and Hero's Skins, which they can either keep or give to their clanmates.
The number of items in stock is limited. Like the Helheim Store, the Asgard Store updates periodically, and its stock is replenished. The Asgard Store does not depend on whether the Battle for Asgard is active or not. The Clan Chief can spend Medals of the Aesir at any time.
Players get Soul Shards by eliminating Asgard Sentinels and troops belonging to players from other Kingdoms. The color markers are the same as in the Battle for the Throne: Towns from other Kingdoms have a red level marker, while allied Towns have a green one.
In the Outlands, you can attack any players' Towns. While on the Isles, however, you can only attack Towns in the territory of the neighboring Tower, i.e. your Tower must be connected by a bridge or gateway to the one you want to attack.
Yes. In order to do so, relocate from Asgard to your home Kingdom, switch Clans, and return to Asgard.
- The Clan Chief cannot disband the Clan or transfer power to another player
- Players cannot leave their Clan, create a new Clan, or join another one
- The Chief and Elders cannot expel a player from the Clan
Not at all. If you want, you can capture only the Towers in the first and second ring — it all depends on the strategy you choose.
No. You can only send reinforcements there.
There's nothing you can do about this. Your Clan's Tower must be captured by an opponent.
Yes. The opponent can completely eliminate the troops that you left in the Tower. However, they won't be able to capture it, because they have already reached the limit of four Towers.
No. Just send regular troops, and the enemy's scouts will return to their Towns.
No. You can't attack the central Tower from the Outlands in this way. First, capture a Tower that is closest to the Outlands, move from the territory of this Tower to a neighboring Tower, and so on until you get to the Heart of Asgard.
What will happen if an opponent breaks my chain of captured Towers? Will I be able to move to the territory of my Towers if they are not connected by bridges?
Yes, and what's more, you can move to the territory of a Tower you've captured from any location within Asgard.
Perhaps you are not in the same territory as the initiator of the Onslaught, or there is no space for your troop in it.
Yes. You can find the corresponding icon on the Global Map in Asgard.
There are no filters for resource locations and opponents on this mini-map. Also, Asgard Towers are only visible at 80%–100% zoom. However, the central Fortress is always displayed.
The Medals will be lost.
