Scientists have revealed the secret of the Infestations! 

Do you want to know what happens to Offensive Units at a Defensive Infestation? Say so in the comments!

Well, the offence troops try to help out the attackers, so they move to the side with the mutants on it and attack the base.

But the mutants know to attack absolutely everything, while the offence troops attack their allies, so the mutants tear the troops apart and any mutant casualties are self inflicted.

The same must happen at offence Infestation sites with defence troops.

Perhaps the offensive units, who prefer to 'push', push outward from their defensive positions, so much so, that they are spread quite thinnly, and therefore able to be easily picked out and destroyed by the enemy.

Whereas defensive units hold their ground and stick together in a much more defensive way... They let the enemy tire themselves coming to THEM vs spreading out and taking out the enemy
