I am in a large order  in a  kingdom and we keep winning tournaments. I think being in a  strong order with many members should be a key part of your strategy.   Also an order with a citadel  gives nice bonuses.

In any case, *** RULE 1 *** : JOIN THE BIGGEST ORDER THAT WILL TAKE YOU, FOR AS LONG AS THEY WILL DO SO.

You can leave later, but in the mean time, doing so gets you the most free gold, rss, boosts, possible, to be able to grow as quickly as possible. (Because they will cross more event checkpoints.) Especially early on, this is crucial. And you will get the benefit of their experience (via order chat), and often they will send you rss upon request - from individuals, or the order bank.

This 'Rule 1' cannot be stressed enough.
