Any changes to BG mechanics in the last few updates?

Some folks have commented that payouts seem to be lower since the last update. Has anything been changed with BGs recently, other than adding new levels?

Hi!

We didn't change Battlegrounds mechanics in the last update. If we implement any new mechanis we always inform our players by the in-game news and forum news.

Let me draw your attention that rewards depend on your losses.

Thanks, that much I've figured out - I and most players know there's a banking system of some kind. The real question is whether there's some way to play BGs so that you can win more troops than you lose in the long run (i.e., positive expected valuation), or whether it's been deliberately programmed to have negative expected valuation, where you as a player might come out ahead in the short term, but in the long term you're always going to lose more troops than you win (similar to how casinos work). Can you tell me if it's been programmed that way?

I ask because, no offense, some folks suspect this. It would seem to be in Plarium's financial interests to deliberately give players negative expected valuation on BGs. That would give players incentive to spend money buying sapphires and troops, in order to recupe their long-term losses.

Hi!

All Units (including different modifications) count when you raid Battlegrounds. However, please keep in mind that the actual Unit value may differ from your expectations and the info provided by other players in different spreadsheets.

Battlegrounds are one of the gameplay elements, it's an optional daily in-game activity, in which our players can, but not obliged to participate. You can try to figure out what's the most effective way to destroy Balur's Units, and what determines the size of your Rewards. But it's not a required condition for Battlegrounds raiding.

I think it's oviously somethings going wrong with bgs because a lot of players who are experienced in bgs know when ther payouts are very very low.. I think plarium should look into this as it can't be a conincidence that everybody feels the same effect as of the last update.. If anything it's ruining the experience for the players who may feel like turning to alternate games where they don't feel ripped off spending there money elsewhere

There is no short answer to this. In reality, it depends on how you play BGs.

If you play BGs just to see 30,000+ Demons pop out of a L149 BG, then you will end up at a loss. At some point hose 30,000 Demons (or equivalent value) will need to be paid back in to the bank. And the higher the BG Level, the more impact it has on your bank.

If you are attempting to play BGs and NOT have to pay back in a bunch of units and KEEP some of the units you received in your payout; I would recommend you take your payouts from the L50-99 range.

I would also strongly recommend you make your own tracking sheet and test various methods to determine what works best for you play style. As I have said in other posts, there is no super secret trick to Battlegrounds.

I have experienced no such issues since the update. My payouts have all come as expected, barring the occasional *hiccup* (where one BG doesn't pay but another of the exact same level does, without adding any units).

I've also seen many posts of very high value payouts from many many BGers  since this update.

I think this is more of an issue of people assuming they understand the way BG algorithm works, when it is impossible to know without seeing the source code.

I have also seen instances where members post "small" payouts (8.8 mil RSS value from a L100), then turn around and receive a massive payout on a L101 without adding any units.... so it evens out.
