"My Lord, you have stripped this Castle to the bones!"

What does this message mean?

My Lord, you have stripped this Castle to the bones! If you dispatch a Raid, you will not recover any Resources. Give this Castle a chance to accumulate Resources before you Raid them again!

It's not any of the following::

  • Weekly 50k limit. I haven't hit this target in 8 days. And I have multiple castles that I _have_ hit the limit for, and none of them show this message.
  • Daily 500k limit. I was only at 308K for the day. And I hit someone else instead of this guy, and got 50K. And I've been at 500K many times, and it doesn't show this message.
  • Castle has no resources. He had about 350K when I spied. And I sent his info to a leaguemate, who also saw 350K when he spied, and he raided the castle for 50K (plus some PvP points, with 0 losses). Also, if you try to attack a castle that has 0 resources about its catacombs (because it's just been attacked—even if it's me who just attacked it), you don't get this message.
  • Out of raids. No, I had 3 raids left. And, again,I hit someone else instead of this guy, and got 50K.
  • Anything else mentioned in the Game Guide.
For some reason, the game just doesn't want me to raid one of the best targets in my neighborhood. I'd like to know what that reason is.

Greetings. Please give me your game ID+server and the coordinates of the target which you were trying to raid so I could check your information and find out what is the reason.

You don't have a Send Messages button, so… I'm supposed to post this in public, so everyone else in our game world knows this guy is a farm? That seems harmful to him, and possibly against the board rules—and it's also harmful to me, as it seems few of our neighbors realize he's a farm.

Also, does "Game ID" mean "Plarium ID" or "UserID" or something else? And, if the former, where do I find that?

Also, is this really a bug, and not a game feature that you just forgot to document anywhere?

Anyway, I filed a bug using the in-game support feature. Hopefully you can see those. If not, I suppose I'll look for a reply here.

Thanks.

Great. Our Support Team will help you. I'm sure there's no bug, because our limits work as intended. We've checked them multiple times. But let's wait for the reply of our Support.

If it's a feature working as intended, you should be able to tell me what the feature is, without me having to contact support and give them details.

For that matter, it should be documented, like other features (the 50K rolling limit, the 500K daily limit, etc.).

You have already listed all limits in your start post. If you want us to investigate this particular issue, please wait for the response of our Support Team.

You can't just tell me when I'm supposed to see this message? I encounter all of the listed limits on a regular basis. The "out of raids" case shows a different message; the other cases show no message at all, and you just get back 0 resources. None of them show this message. And, as explained in my initial email, none of them apply here, either. So, clearly, if this isn't a bug, it's a different, undocumented limit, which is applying as it's supposed to. So I would like to know what that limit is.

Meanwhile, I've gotten a private message from a user named VE4NIK (http://plarium.com/forum/en/profile/**/), whose profile says he's from *and at RoB (*), asking the following:

Hi, friend. Can you give me your castle cooridnates and server number? I'll send them to comunity manager to investigate your situation.

Is this a representative from Plarium? Or a user who helps out a lot of noobs like me when official support is being obtuse? Or is it a user fishing for information about my farms so he can share them with his league? I have no way of knowing.

I wouldn't be worried, but you've made scamming such an obvious possibility by not having any way for us to contact you privately, and asking things in a public forum like "Please give me your game ID+server and the coordinates of the target which you were trying to raid".

The support team finally got back to me. All they did is list the same limits that I listed in my initial post, and in my support ticket, and say that none of those limits negatively affect game balance. Which is true, but completely irrelevant to my question.

Anyone who's played the game at all knows that you do not get this popup message for the 50k weekly limit, the 500k daily limit, being out of raids, or raiding someone with no resources. And, as I already explained, none of those limits could possibly apply in this case.

At this point, I don't know whether your support people just don't know the game they're supporting at all beyond what's in the game guide, or whether you're trying to keep some feature a secret from your users for some reason. But continuing to repeat the same thing over and over when it's patently not true does not qualify as support.

Falcotron,

You can point out Support guys that none of listed limits fits you and they will have to investigate it further...

I pointed that in my initial support message, and they ignored it. I replied, pointing it out again. Let's see what they say.

Meanwhile, the message stopped happening for the two castles I wrote about. And the timing is a bit odd. I was checking at least once/day since the day before I posted this message, and got the popup every time. The last time I checked was about 8 hours before getting the reply, and I still couldn't raid. Then, after getting the reply, I checked again, and now I can raid both of the castles mentioned in the support ticket. (And I did raid one of them, and got resources.)

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but this seems kind of fishy. Maybe there is a bug, but they don't want to admit it, so they manually fixed things for me to shut me up? Or maybe it's even an intentional feature they want to keep secret. Maybe Joe Badplayer complains that I'm raiding him every week, and it's not fair because he spends a ton of money on this game, so they have a flag they can set that stops me from raiding him. But then I complain about that (in public, even), and they don't want anyone to find out about this flag, so they clear it and let me start attacking Joe Badplayer again.

Again, I realize this sounds paranoid, and it's probably just a coincidence…

First, support finally responded to me today—9 days after my last reply. But they closed the ticket, and, thanks to a wonderful new bug in the iOS app, that means I can't actually read what they wrote.

Meanwhile…

"Confirmed that there is no bug" isn't an answer to this question. Again, what is the limit? I've explained, repeatedly, that none of the documented limits applies. If there's an undocumented limit, that's fine, but then I'd like to know what the limit is. Just knowing that some unspecified undocumented limit is working as intended doesn't help.

Let's try an analogy here, to see if you can understand what's wrong with this response.

Imagine you're driving on the highway. The last posted speed limit sign said 100 km/h. There's no construction, adverse weather, heavy traffic, or anything else that would cause a different limit to come into effect by any law that you know of. And you're going 90 km/h. And you get pulled over for speeding.

You ask the officer what limit you were violating, but he won't tell you. He just says, "You were speeding." You again ask what the limit was, and he won't tell you.

So you go to court to fight the ticket. You bring all the relevant evidence: a list of all of the laws for speed limits, a photo of the 100 km/h sign, a web search that shows that 100 km/h is the speed limit for that stretch of highway, weather and traffic reports, and a construction schedule. You present all of this and ask the judge, "If the limit was not 100 km/h, what was it?"

Instead of answering, the judge just says, "The officer did not act incorrectly in applying the limit." You say, "What limit? What was the limit?" And again, all he'll say is, "The officer did not act incorrectly in applying the limit."

Would you consider that reasonable?

Of course not.

And it probably wouldn't make you any happier if you were repeatedly told that you'd get a response in 1-2 days, but in fact it took 8-9 days. Or if, when you got the final response from the judge, it was written in a sealed envelope that tore apart and became unreadable when you tried to open it.

Our developers have already prepared a fix for this issue, and it will be released with the next update. We can recommend you to check your Timezone in phone settings. If it's wrong, that could be the reason. Also, one of the possible reasons is that you have reinstalled the app before receiving our reply. Please contact our Support Team to get your reply once again.

My time zone is correct. You have to go out of your way to prevent an iPhone from automatically setting it correctly, and I did not do so. I also did not reinstall the app.

Is it possible that by "correct", they actually mean "east of GMT"—which would be incorrect for all of your users in the Americas, of course? I can incorrectly set my timezone to CET or EET or wherever you guys are if it would let me read the replies. But I don't want to do that unless you guys tell me to, because who knows what else it could break in the game. (I wouldn't want to have the game think I'm trying to set my clock ahead to complete buildings early and set off a cheat flag and get myself banned or something.)

It would be nice to know what additional details they might want. I already told them everything I could think of, and it's hard to cram info into the tiny support text box. But I filed a new ticket.

Meanwhile, can you please pass the message upstream that until this bug is fixed, they shouldn't close tickets where people need to see the reply? I would have thought that would be so obvious it doesn't need saying, but apparently I would be wrong. I did as you suggested and contacted the Support Team to ask them to re-send my their reply, because I can't read the original reply because of the bug with closed support tickets. So, they replied to that—and immediately closed to the ticket, so I can't read what they wrote. I've tried again; hopefully this time they think for a second.

Or, of course, you could just provide the answer on the forum. If you guys know what the undocumented limit is, and it's not anything secret, why can't you just post it here?
