Warning!! this is not a task for the faint of heart. It requires some computer knowledge and multiple steps to complete.

This guide is for anyone that uses discord for league communications and would like to run it semi transparent over the game without losing game functions. The full screen drops to windowed if typing in the text chat and this cannot be stopped without paid software but will remain full screen for voice chat and you can still read what other people are typing. If you play in windowed mode you will have full control of anything that is not fully covered by the chat window while the chat remaines on top.

The end result should look something like this,

1. First you will need the discord app for your current operating system.  https://discordapp.com/download

2. Next you will need to install better-discord, unzip folder to desktop and then run the exe file. After that you can move folder to trash..  https://betterdiscord.net/home/

3. Next you will need to install a transparency patch plugin.  https://github.com/HoLLy-HaCKeR/BetterDiscord-Themes-and-Plugins/blob/master/Plugins/transparency_patcher.md

On the patch page you need to right click raw and select open in new tab and then on the new page right click anywhere and select "save page as" and save to to C:\Users\?????\AppData\Roaming\BetterDiscord\plugins

4. Next you will need a transparent theme.  https://github.com/HoLLy-HaCKeR/BetterDiscord-Themes-and-Plugins/blob/master/Themes/Transparency.theme.css

On the theme page will do the same as you did for the plugin but will save to C:\Users\?????\AppData\Roaming\BetterDiscord\themes

5. Last you will need something to force the app to remain on the top even during game play. For this I use "always-on-top" for windows http://www.pcworld.com/article/218511/Windows.html

I adjusted my theme to a 20% transparency from the default 50% so it will not look exactly like the screen shot to start with, it will be darker.

Make sure to follow all of the the instructions provided at each step and here is a video to help get the better-discord installed to begin with. Also you NEED to read the FAQ under the video in the link.

I will definitely try this out! Thank you.

One question though;

5. Last you will need something to force the app to remain on the top even during game play. For this I use "always-on-top" for windows 7 http://www.pcworld.com/article/218511/Windows.html

You mentioned Windows 7 here. Is there also a version for Windows 10?
If so, perhaps mention this in the topic so players with Windows 10 can benefit from it as well!

Yes its the same app for windows 7 through 10, I am not sure about vista or older though.

This will work with any app you want to run on top of the game, if you want it gone just minimize and then bring it back via the task bar. Its convenient for cycling through daily quest and basic castle maintenance because game actions wont force the app to drop, only the minimize button.
