Facebook taking over this game?

Is there a plan to only play Stormfall through a Facebook account?   Plarium/Rockyou/Wonderhill/Rockyou has taken my Edgeworld game and made it, starting 1/1/18, to ONLY play through Facebook.   A few other games also are in that boat.

I refuse to start a FB account, certainly not just to play that game, but I wonder if there are plans to let Facebook run the access to this game.

Facebook is certainly better than hosting your own game. Plarium make more money on Facebook compared to on plarium.com.

And no plarium is not planning on migrating on to Facebook. They already have games there, including Stormfall.

i think facebook  is beginning to require HTML5 .   stormfall currently is still adobe flash.   there wont be a need to migrate to facebook unless plarium gets on the ball and upgradefs to HTML5.

and the time is ticking  FAST on that.  most tech analysts would say we are on the event horizon for plarium to not have enough time.

CMs will tell you "devs are working to migrate to HTML5"   but theyve been saying that long enough for it to have already happened if it were going too.

Alina phoenix can post roll out timeline if she'd like to refute anything ive said in this post.

Do you have any evidence or statistics to back up your assertion?  I've never seen any numbers showing that the facebook version of the game earns more than the plarium.com version.

There is already a stormfall game on facebook and some players play on both, so it wouldn't make sense for them to merge the plarium.com game onto facebook.

I certainly appreciate the comments/replies.  What "makes sense", however, can vary with time and circumstances.  Just a drag to lose all one's time and money on a game that they can just swoop out from underneath your feet.   I like Stormfall, hope they keep it as-is.

Regarding Edgeworld, it was running on two platforms (if I use that term correctly) but now it is only FB, so it can happen.

Congratulations that is the smartest thing you have said for the intire year.

Google is your friend. It's rather idiotic that a mod does not know this information. You can also ask Alyona ( if she is still around), you can do so under the protection of information act.

yeah, Biohazard.

ive got to side with Oracle on this one. that was a pretty dopey response.   if you read ANY of gabi shaleel's interviews there is a huge focus on facebook because thats where the money is.

Look for the new "stormfall" mobile game to added to facebook to replace the browser one. although Alyona and Alina have only been told that it wont replace it, it will add to the lore, that is plarium's answer to the HTML5 migrtation. a fresh start.

I spend a lot of time following the MMO community online. Reading articles, watching tech trends, looking for interviews given by CEOs and employees of games in playing or interested in.  There is a wealth of information readily available from a bunch of different sources.

There is also a lot of info online about the culture of plarium and how things work on the inside. Plarium is a  fast rising rockstar in the gaming world and a lot has been said so there is much content to glean info from.

the CMs are told to tell us that the devs are hard at work on updating our game for the death of flash, but if you know the culture at Plarium there is a huge barrier between the CMs and the developers.   they are usually just as disconnected from what is going on as we are.  They are telling us what they know to be true, its just that its not always true when its told to them.

So while the official line from the community manager is "the developers are working on it"  the truth is that the developers are really locked in their offices playing overwatch while the art team works on the mobile app story boards.

Ah, ok.  Sorry, I don't monitor Plarium's owner like some of you guys do, I just play the game.

Hello, guys!

Lord IronApex Turok, welcome back! I missed your 'Flash will die' topics :)

So, turning back to the initial question, plarium.com and Facebook are absolutely different platforms, they won't be combined into one.

Replying to Lord IronApex Turok favorite question, yes, devs are working on the new game engine and not only for plarium.com, but for Facebook as well.

The game won't die when Flash will do it in 2020.

They should.  Probably.  There's always the possibility of some kind of computer issues during the transfer though.

What I guarantee is that devs are working on moving to the new engine and according to their plans it should go smooth.

So, you promote this new game EXILE in your news. But so far you failed to give us any insight or promotion to what Stormfall will be on a new engine or what we can expect of changing to it. There is players that invested A LOT of money in this game, and Im quite sure they would LOVE for reasureance of get their money worth moved onto the new engine.

How about share some of what you doing with the new engine for stormfall at same level is being presented for EXILE? If you want us to invest into your future, at least SHOW us what we can expect of the future.

Don't mix up these two games. They're absolutely different.

Project Exile is a new game and its developers decided to show players how the game is created. Share the results in the group: https://www.facebook.com/plprojectexile/

As for the new engine for Stormfall, it won't make big changes in the mechanics and strategies of the game itself. It's aimed at the improvement of the game performance in general, starting with the decrease of the lags and faster game loading finishing with the graphics improvements.

I'm not mixing up the two games,, all I ask for is same level of transparency. And this is not something unique, you can look at just about any game company out there, there is dev blongs, behind the scenes videos, showing work in progress and so on. Why should it be so for Plarium to do something similar. And no, have some people talk in some youtube video is not the same, as actually SHOW US, give a teaser, a little insight etc.
