judging by all the beacons that have fallen on s2.....

only 1 remaining heavily defended beacon is left, and i dont think it'll survive the night. 

Even the coveted corner beacons (which should, in theory, be the heaviest defended) have fallen today. 

We've had our pick of beacons during this massacre. and of course, we are only after Pvp points. we arent keeping them.

You had your pick of Beacons then why did it take 6 leagues to take down 1 corner Beacon?

There were no pvp points this time - no pvp tournaments so nobody gets ANY rewards

Even League achievements are switched off so you get NOTHING for downgrading a level 5 beacon

Everyone loses 10% permanently, some are crazy enough to spend sapphires reviving units DURING the Massacre

More Beacon Destruction immediately after Massacre

They even have the nerve to call it a 'Conquest' tournament, but it has nothing to do with conquest
There are no tournament points for conquering, downgrading or upgrading beacons, only for killing defense units

This is just another pvp tournament with a fancy name

Beacons are pvp targets. They now have no other purpose in the game
but they are very bad pvp targets because tournament points are only given based on the power point value of units killed, which is much more difficult than hitting a Hamlet or badly fortified castle.
These tournament points are not the same as normal pvp points.

So why do intelligent players not ignore this stupid tournament?

You may think beacons are not relevant but as long as they are the most important thing for the league ranks they will always be the most important. When you want to play a game you want to be the best, you want to be no1 in rankings, so no matter what your strategy use... 

One of the principles you must have to be no1 is to hold the biggest territory and this can happen only holding beacons :-)

but are they the most important?  

on server 2, we are able to stay inthe top ten and not hold a single beacon.  We can climb the ladder by knocking off the beacons of who ever is above us. 

LOTBR manages to hold the number 1 spot with only 1 beacon.

most beacons on server 2 are level 1, no one can hold them.
