methinks the two are related.
perhaps he does have something to do with the bots after all.

Oracle has nothing to do with the posting of these spam topics.
Moreover, all moderators move this spam to Spam thread and clean up other threads from it.
Our devs are working on the program that will allow removing this spam automatically.
So, let's don't create any drama when there is no actually any :)

I think the spammers buy into the fairytale of millions of active users and think they reach out to a lot of people when tney spam these forums... maybe :p

Best defense was a drop down box when creating an account. User makes a selection from a sensible set of options, default setting is 'No Selection'. It won't let you create an account if the selection is still 'No Selection'. Amazingly this seems to kill almost all spam bots dead, before they even get to the annoying capture protection.

On a serious note, spammers that we have here are humans, and not bots programmes. They send their attacks at certain time in a day, so dealing with them depend on timing their attacks, so you delete the messages before they post many. The same person(account) spam multiple site( Stormfall, pirate ect), so if you catch one after he post he normally give up and leave without posting another spam.
