How Do You Define Strategy??

I read the forum and read a lot of complaints about money but not what play would be like with no money. How would that work?

Many complain about a single thing that is specific to only how that one player plays the game, not how it affects their adversary as well or everyone in general.

An analogy regarding SOME players: Back in the day I would buy my nephews the latest game for $100 and they would find the cheat codes on line and finish it in a few days. Does this describe you?:)

Are you a player who likes lots of battles, quick regeneration ? Or do you play the LONG game and enjoy the slow build an not being able to quickly run through all the up grades etc. How do you please both?

Recognizing players are always starting the game, how do you balance the new ones who are low leveled and the war horses who have played for years and could crush the newbies as they arrive?

The ability to move a castle has eliminated the isolation of new players where everyone in the area used to start and progress around the same time and at the same speed.

Then how do you also balance players who have lots of time so can acquire things much faster then players who cannot spend a lot of time leveling up and upgrading.

Are you a single player? Why? How do you balance Leagues playing with lone wolves??

I would be interested to know what people think about these topics. Thanks and Victory to all:)

hello Teresa

what a nice post thank you

about the things you have said

1) NO the game is free no need to  buy it and active bot castles as well as hackers such as plarium club are being removed constantly (so dont use cheats it against rules)

2) lots of battles or long game its up to the player and what it prefersso the game brings those possibilities to them and its up to them to decide however they have to plan which way they play because each has advantages as well as disadvantages '

3) yes players who have been playing for years can crush players who just started it is the same case in all games however there is the catacombs and other ways where new players can avoid losing anything to big players if they attacked also you have 3 days protection at the start

4) big players will not benefit greatly from attacking low level castles (actually the benefit is too low that it is not worth it) besides as i said in no .3 there are many ways to disappoint your attacker

5) it is common in all the games on the planet that putting more time , dedication , hard planning and work into a game would put you on a leading advantage so why balance between a player who plays just 10 minutes a day to a player who plays 3 hours?? it is not fair right ??

6) its the players choice and for any choice there are consequences so if you choose to be a single player then you have accepted all the challenges that you may avoid being in a league besides there are some single players who are so good that they can take down an entire league on their own

hope that answered your questions and again thank you

If you are new, I don't care. If you got something I can take and benefit from I do so.

As far as define strategy in Stormfall, I don't really consider Stormfall to be a strategy game. A game of tactics? Yeah perhaps.

When someone can coin up a new army or revive one for cash, strategy aspect is already out the window.

Best strategy on any plarium game....

strategy is simply the tactical path you take.  addressing the elephant in the room:  a tactical path should be through actual gameplay.  having multiple paths, one within gameplay and one without,  is the unbalance of strategy.  that is where the main issue lies.  a player who wants actual success in a game will do so through actual gameplay.  tactical paths that exist through gameplay.  this regardless of their bank account, small or large.

as exxxe stated in #5  why should someone playing 10 minutes a day gain an advantage over someone playing 3 or 4 hrs. a day.  that is if someone wants to rate their success through gameplay.  highscores are meaningless if simply purchased.  on the subject of time. the way many games are developed, a player is wasting their time actually playing the game.  many players make more money irl. {this being the value of the player's time, energy, focus and effort}.  it is better efficiency for a "player" to get a part time second job and buy success in a game than it is to play the game.

when a game is an unsatisfying full time job, players devoting their time, focus, energy and effort, and then the game company does not value that time, focus, energy and effort;  it is a slap in the face of the player.  this slap in the face is a stronger source of anger than the initial unbalance.

most console games here in the states are usually 40 to 60 usd when new and recently released.  i keep my old consoles and games i like. i can go back to them after 2, 5, or even 10 years and  ENJOY  them again and again.  the appeal of online games is the continued building of the game account.  this takes alot of time.  even the best games can become a grind, but, they do have something to offer.  real success through gameplay.  and some players can f2p and still beat coiners at building their account.  i could pay 20 years subscription in a certain game with game resources.  i have no desire to do so, but i could.

a game that has value is worthy of a subscription: 10 to 15 usd.  this game is not worth a subscription for a player who wants to succeed through gameplay.  i would not pay 1 usd per month.  that is what plarium needs to work on.

i am a lone wolf.  " anti-social".  i created my own league of one.  it is the best 2k sapphires i have spent in the game.

strategy:  gaining ground through gameplay.  is losing troops in bgs strategy?  is not building your castle walls with true game resources strategy? is putting your troops on a hamlet as sitting ducks for a pker.  strategy? is not defending your castle because coin players are like kids in a candy store when they see 10m defense.  strategy?  is resource raiding 3 hrs a day to build an army that the only purpose is to destroy those troops in order to gain fewer troops.  strategy?

it may look like isolated complaints from a handful of players, but, most of it stems from a common source.  A STRATEGY GAME?

online games are like restaurants, most people don't complain...............they just don't come back.

I know many good players who don't use this strategy. But of course it's up to you ;)

It would be nice if the $sapphire$ were only spent to speed up or enhance options already available to everyone, but that's not how it's ended up. There are a lot of features only available for sapphires, so it's sort of a vicious circle if you want any of the extra's without pulling your wallet out - do tournaments to get free sapphires, spend them to replace troops fast enough to stay competitive, rinse and repeat.

There are many things our community can influence in the game. Unfortunately, business model is not one of them.
