I am sure it should.. if you check the feats of valor it should show how many you have left to liberate..
There are 2 ways you can liberate
1. By sending your troops as a reinforcement.
2. By going into the castle, going over to the keep and then clicking on liberate. the below screenshot will explain the process.
Once you liberate check and see if the count left decreases.
I tried it for one castle right now and it worked.
Maybe screenshot of what happen woudl help.
you could use lightshot to take printscreens.
