Perfect example of what listening to the customers can do (Nostalrius private servers)
"According to Nostalrius’s creators, the server had around 800,000 registered users and 150,000 active players" because blizzard didn't listen they have lost around 6-7 million subscribers over the past few years and they have recently cut of all information in regards to people playing, they are now suing the company behind Nostalrius for IP fraud, however this server has been around for years and years and blizzard typically had a "we don't care much" attitude towards people making their own servers based on their IP. This is a sign of damage control from blizzard and they are trying to retain as many customers as possible even though they are losing them at an alarming rate.
Is it possible Plarium is doing the same with locking/closing/deleting threads/posts/comments. Facebook runs "like this and you might win this" it recently got locked due to people commenting that it was another coiner update, doesn't matter much either way... But the commenting got removed because the post was purely to like it.... Liking something on Facebook gets shared on your friends news feed, so it leads me to believe Plarium is essentially doing what Blizzard are doing just on a different scale
This is on topic for the O.P and it will be screenshot, it also does not violate rules about going off-topic and or inciting users to leave/quit the game and or stop spending. This also falls freely under the following:
- 3.13. While we are more than happy to host constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant advertising threads. Also, we would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other games/forums. Such posts will be subject to removal.
- While free debate and discussion are encouraged, we will not tolerate posts using inappropriate/offensive language or content.
I believe this to be a constructive comparison between the current situation of Nostalrius vs Blizzard - and Plarium
And in no way am I bashing blizzard for their choice, this was an objective view minus me saying it was damage control which is not attacking Blizzard as a whole
Edit: not entirely off-topic but blizzard cs just posted like 10 minutes ago they are getting DDOS'ed *plays x-file music*
