Here's something you could try:

1. Find the necessary resources (Upgrade buildings, raid/siege inactive castles, ask your League, etc.);
2. Train units (Archers and Paladins recommended for now);
3. Try to speed up the training process (Dragon Stone, Obelisk of Power, etc.);
4. Hide your troops in the catacombs every now and then;
5. Make sure your units are hidden in the catacombs when you leave the PC;
6. Upgrade Lost Arts, buildings, and try to find sources of Sapphires.
7. You can use the Sapphires on e.g Castle Walls / Castle Guards increasing your Castle Defense.
8. Once you've upgraded the Lost Arts of at least the Archer and Paladin to level 30, you could use your units:
   - Use the Archers to defend your castle;
   - Use the Paladins to strike back at your enemy;

Just note that it'll take some time, but you'll get there for sure!
Play strategic, and conquer your enemy!

4. Hide your troops in the catacombs every now and then;

It's recommended to keep your units hidden from fights until the two Lost Arts are at about 30.
That's when they're most powerful apart from using Sketches.

But sucking cheese is a  good approach . 

Yup he is after your builds so log frequently and catacomb

you could also spend money (not recommended) to apply a Weor's Protection (shield), use an auto unit hider (not so expensive and can be purchased with soul stones as well) or move your castle (really a kind of expensive way to avoid an attack or two)

Your league can also help you with defense and set up a WOD 

basically scorched earth technique,  hide troops and spend resources.  don't message them letting them know they are bugging you, just ignore them in messages.  have other players put defense on your castle, although it doesn't sound like they are sending much.

Another option is to join a pvp league ..beacon leagues / larger leagues don't really want lower lvl members as they are unable to send def to there beacons .others dont assist u with scrolls etc

Providing u are a daily log in member..pvp leagues will happily take u as a member and use the opportunity to gain pvp rewards .
