Crucial for you progress is development, collect or exchange the scrolls, make more buildings and troops.

Hiding troops in catacombs is also good strategy.

Tournaments are much easier for beginners.

Do as many of the Daily quests as you can. These are basically free resources and experience.

Find ten abandoned castles near yours and raid them every day. That should gain you several thousand extra of each resource. Send a Silent One first, so that your forces don't get ambushed.

Check out the Feats of Valor, it's the icon shaped like a crown in the top left hand corner. Many of these can be done easily and you get free units resources or saphires for achieving them, even some of the best units.

Also, every new day icons for Goblin Gold, Scrap Iron and Wildbeast food appear around the perimeter of your Keep. Just click these for free resources. Then if you visit your new friends' Keeps, the icons may also be there as well. I get about 40 of these icons done each day, which also adds up to a Feat of Valor.

High I am a beginner on Stormfall any ideas for me?

I'm not raiding their castle. I don't believe the icons for gold, iron and food I see are even visible for my friends. If these were their icons, then each and every one of them would have about 10 icons, just like me. Instead, most have none visible to me and only a few have any at all. When I cycle through my friends to see who needs wraiths or revives, I click the icons.

You know for a fact this is stealing, or you merely believe these are their icons?

Again, I'm asking for proof of your statement. The Feat of Valor for using these icons is called "Tribute". Tribute is something someone else gives you. Do you know for a fact that when I click these, the other person loses something? I get about 10 icons each day at my castle. I've never seen 10 icons at the other castles...ever. Most have none. People who are away for a day don't even have any. What is the proof in your statement? I'd really like a dev or Lord Oberon to answer this conclusively, because I don't appreciate being called a thief. If I shouldn't have this tribute, then why do I see these icons at all? Thank you.

best advice i can give a rookie....never, ever listen to the moderators. as above, they are either too inexperienced to give good advice, or they lie.

like other, experienced players, have suggested, join a league. make friends ask lots of questions.

find a league that has their own website and forum aside from this one. thats where you'll find the best knowledge. This forum is mostly jsut used to complain in. most of the major leagues run their own forums and these contains a wealth of knowledge about the game.

feats of valor is for your eyes only, it's a challenge the game put out to keep you interested in the game

so you will cont trying to advance, only thing you can really steal in plarium games are resources, which last i new that is the whole idea of these games? killing troops and gaining resources?

you are no way a thief, and if anyone calls you one has no reason in playing a combat game....

Your idea of raiding friends castles for free resources ia appalling. If I were your friend and found out you did that I would contact the Marshall and have you booted for stealing.Other than that you gave sound advice.

the key word hear is abandoned!  after the 3 day protection period, at least 90% of castles that are still level 2 thru level 6 will never come back.  new players also don't have speed troops to begin with, unless they buy the 90 mph demons for real world cash.  new players are also not strong enough to attack larger players.  therefore rational, logical, reasonable thought brings us to this conclusion: yes it is a great strategy to find the 10 closest, abandoned level 2 thru level 6 castles near you as a new player. this gives you 28,500 resources per day.  it is quicker for players with slow troops, "pikes", it also protects them from retaliation by a larger player, it also protects an active player from a nuisance.

edit: or did you state that collecting tribute was "raiding your friends" even if so, everything i stated still stands.

be careful tho, the castles may also still have oberons 40 archers plus other troops on them.  this can be pvp points for a new player as well.

i am becoming extremely appalled by all the forum mods who are belittling the player base.

and espceially when the player base is correct according to the greatest amount of information available to them.  how in the world is there not a policy that protects players from ridicule by the mods?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no they do not, that tribute is for you as a thank you for visiting a Friends castle, presumably,  for raising a wraith or fallen troops.

however it hasn't been functioning for me, i click on a hog for food, then i go to set my troop que's and i get the message not enough resources. another useless part of the game.
