Lord Oberon should start in maze 2, work his way out to the outer wall of 2, walk towards 3, walk on the outer wall of 3, keep going towards 4, walk along the outer wall of 4, keep going towards 1, walk along the outer wall of 1, keep going towards two, and then arrive at the 3 trees, safe at last.

Route 2 is the only one that is open.  But this assumes that Lord Oberon is a linear thinker.  Let's be honest, he carries a big sword and he doesn't like mazes...   A straight line being the shortest distance between two points, any direction will do.

start in center of 2, work your way to maze 3, then maze 4, then maze 1, back to 2 and into the forest.
